I got this from a humble bundle and had low expectations since I'm not a rhythm game enthusiast but decided to give it a shot anyways. I played the first song (using VR) to get a hang of how things work. Then I played the second song on a harder difficulty and had the most fun I've had in weeks. By the end I was all sweaty with the widest grin on my face. I will be making my friends try this.

I was drunk and bought this game because it had good reviews and a FPS/roguelike sounded good.
I tried it a couple of times and I didn't feel much so I considered refunding. I decided to give it one more try and then it all suddenly clicked.
The difficulty level is perfect because the enemies are always fair no matter what the difficulty level is. The higher levels have more and more elites that function as high-priority targets so it's not just about higher stats. First I always picked snipers and shot the enemies one by one around a corner but when I got better, I started blasting through with close-ranged weapons and had way more fun. There's plenty to unlock and all of the weapons feel good to use. The many unlockable gadgets made sure that my playstyle was very different when I actually knew how to play. After finally finishing the stage that I thought was the final one, there was a whole new one to beat until I reached the final boss. When I was bored at the classes that I mained, I picked ones that didn't sound so good and realized that they're way more fun than the earlier ones. After unlocking most of the content you can just pick any weapon that you find and upgrade it until the last boss so you don't need luck to get the run that you want. You need to finish a challenge somewhere around the middle of the run to get the weapon to the final level.
This is just a great-ass game and I can't think of anything negative to say. If you like FPS- and roguelike-games, this one is a must-have.

I've been playing with a friend and progression has been very challenging but I've enjoyed it.

A good choice if you need several years to suddenly disappear

I loved the first game back in the ye olde free game era and this is exactly what I expected of a paid sequel that isn't limited by Flash.

I thought I was doing fine until the winter came and froze the lakes. All of my dwarves died of dehydration but many of them were very interested in the new doors so I guess it's fine. Losing was surprisingly fun.

Casual fun.
