Loved it. I have a few gripes, but overall a fantastic addition to the mainline games.

What I enjoyed: The story is the star here, the stakes are high and and I was invested the entire time. All the characters are super well written. The designs of the main characters are great. The enviornments are pretty, maybe a little empty though. The voice acting is absolutely perfect. Combat becomes a lot more flexible towards end-game. The eikon/summon battles are incredible well crafted, if one thing stays in my brain from this game, it will be the Bahamat fight.

What I didn't enjoy: 90% of the sidequests feel pretty uninspired. They're Final Fantasy 14 fetch quests just there is no dungeon to work towards. Character design outside of main characters is pretty boring, but this has become the norm in all FF content since Amano stepped down. Combat wasn't my favorite, but it was passable, it opened up a lot more as the game went on.

I think the art design and kit for this killer and survivor are really really neat but unfortunately Houndmaster's AI and bugs keep me from recommending you spend money on her.

That said, I think the perk 'Shoulder the Burden' may be one of my favourite perk additions to the game in a long long time.

Short and sweet. Love the art design, and the soundtrack is wonderful, but a heads up that you can 100% the game in just under an hour.

Interesting mechanically but not fun to play as or against. One of the worst implemented chapters to be honest, but still sad to see any license removed from the game.

Two Parts, this pass as a whole and The Answer DLC.

This pass:
Atlus/Sega continue to show they're some of the most money hungry companies in the business by releasing this and not giving it to people who bought the $200 collector's edition, after specifically saying no more DLC would be released past launch. Also, forcing people to buy the entire pass and unable to buy the DLC separately is insane, especially when it costs more than half of the base game. Who can be shocked though, what Sega/Atlus game hasn't launched without $40 day one DLC in the last 8 years?

The Answer/Episode Aigis:
While the themes and most of the story we're good for this DLC, and I really loved the ending, the gameplay loop is some of the least fun I have had with anything Persona related. I consider the base game a 10/10, so to make me really dislike playing your DLC is a pretty great feat. You are stuck dungeon crawling randomly generated floors for hours and hours just to get small lore drops before the game finally gives you the real content in the final two hours of the game. Sorry, but 15+ hours of dungeon crawling does not make up for 3 hours of actual story. (Still cried like a ♥♥♥♥♥ when the menu changed after I beat it though)

If you're reading this and unsure if you want to pick up the Pass or not, just beat the 10/10 INCREDIBLE base game, then go watch the cutscenes for the DLC on youtube, save yourself $40 and your own sanity.

This would be a mixed review if Steam let me. Lets get the negative stuff out of the way.

- The writing in the first 10 hours or so is pretty dreadful (pun).
- Your character can only be nice about everything, and the delivery is pretty terrible for every "comical" reply Rook makes.
- The companions are rough around the edges to start.
- The gameplay/combat does not feel like Inquisition, it's something entirely new (whats the deal with not being able to control companions?).
- Lots of world building is just thrown out the window or entirely retconned.
- The equipment system feels so meaningless. The gear abilities are barely noticeable.
- All the cameos of characters from past games felt very forced, nonsensical, and some of their redesigns were downright bad.

that said,

- The story is solid, ESPECIALLY in the second half.
- The areas are gorgeous and the game looks great, even if they did choose to soften the art style.
- The companions are great, you will likely end up liking all of them.
- Lots of exploration, questing, and puzzle solving but nothing feels too easy or too complicated.
- The final act is fantastic. I cried like, four times. But I don't agree with the prerequisites in order to get the true ending.

Most of the criticisms people have are 100% valid, but everything this game does well mostly makes up for the flaws it does have. This is a great video game, but a disappointing Dragon Age game. You do not need to have played DA1 or DA2, but I would really recommend playing or reading up on Inquisition if you haven't.

I hope they take both the positive and negative from this game and learn from it. They had the right foundation, but it feels more like a generic RPG with a Dragon Age skin on it, with everything that made a DA game special stripped from it.

Short and sweet, but arguably more interesting mechanically than the main game.

I highly recommend playing this before your New Game Plus run as that way you will have Kasumi and Akechi for the main game's 2nd playthrough.

However, only buy this on sale, or as part of a sale on the deluxe edition of the game. Base price is a crime.

I have extremely mixed feelings about P5T, and this is one of the few times I wish Steam had a 3rd option for reviews.

If you're a P5 fan, you'll likely enjoy your time with it since you get to experience more interactions between the gang.
I would be lying if I said I didn't get teary eyed when the new arrangement of Beneath The Mask began to play, but I have a whole lot of comments.

Cons:
1. The gameplay is as deep as a puddle. If you enjoy Tactical RPGs, but do not know much about Persona, you won't love this as the game plays more like a visual novel and puzzle game than a traditional Tactical RPG.
2. The difficulty is questionable. I played through hard for my entire playthrough and never had a character hit single digit HP.
3. Movement completely breaks the game. If you take high movement characters, you'll have a breeze, which unfortunately makes someone like Haru completely useless until she has a ton of skill points. This also means you can sometimes entirely ignore combat and just go for an objective to complete a mission.
4. The first third of the game is a bit of a slog while the story picks up.
5. The writing in Persona games is always a bit corny, and I usually enjoy it, but it never stops here.
6. The Atlus/Sega classic of day one $30 DLC, that frankly has more interesting mechanics than base game.
7. No additional character development of the main cast. I didn't expect any, but at least Strikers gave some.

Pros:
1. Stylish as always. Chibis are awkward but cute.
2. Voice Acting on point as always.
3. Soundtrack great as always (but maybe my least favourite of the all the games).
4. Grinding for exp and money won't take you days upon days, just an hour or two if you really want to max out.
5. Each boss fight is pretty unique and actually have some fun mechanics.

I can only recommend the game if it's on a large sale.
