I was really looking forward to game with this very long style progression into various skills but this one just missed the mark in so many ways. I also feel that most of the complains are not focused on the bigger issues this games has. The minor problems can be easily fixed, the major ones however are probably here to stay or will take months to fix. And the most massive problem I see with this game is that

There is no fun to be had

most of the fun in video games comes from solving/overcoming challenges, experiencing great stories, discovering interesting things and (in the case of online games) the ability to do the previous things with friends that work together for something. Whatever thing you like in a game can probably be described as once of the experiences above with some niche exceptions. The problem with brighter shores is that after playing the game for 3 hours I have yet to find any of those things, literally 0. I know people expect others to have hundreds of hours before talking about this type of game but there has to be SOMETHING interesting in the first 3 hours of game, if not, you should just remake the starting experience from scratch.

Here is a list of things i expected to find but didn't:

• A fight in which i have to use reflexes or knowledge to squeeze out a win, you literally just click and wait for every fight.
  
• A puzzle that takes more then half a second to solve.
  
• A story that is engaging, which is specially hard when a lot of dialog options are just unfunny jokes.
  
• Interesting lore, I talked with every NPC I found and no one said anything interesting about the world.
  
• An activity I can do with my friends so we can do something fun together.
  
• A interesting piece of gear that does something different like maybe adding a special attack or something similar.
  
• A piece of gear that makes me feel like I had meaningful progress.
  
• A piece of gear that seemed cool and made me want to farm it or farm enough fighting related xp so i could use it.
  
• A level up that makes me feel good because I now have access to a new interesting activity. Fishing level ups just change which fish you click, in cooking which station you click and same for potion making. The worst of this ones is fighting levels as those seem to only unlock gear, and taking into account the points above unlocking gear does not feel good in any way.
  
• ANY INTERESTING GOAL, this one is the most shocking to me as any game I know that has a lot of grind tries to show the user at least 1 thing for them to work towards that seems to be fun to do or cool to have, either raids that I player might want to do or an powerful item the player would want. This game has yet to show me anything I should be working towards besides a quest that says (level up to level 60). Specially when as I said leveling up doesn't unlock anything interesting in its own profession.

After all of this I went and watched a few videos of the later parts of the game and by episode 3 none of the points above seem to have been addressed. Other episodes and profession are just the same thing with slightly different skins.

From what i can see the game is updated very often so I hope it can become interesting one day, but at least in the near future I don't see what the developers could possibly do to make the game a fun experience. In case this ever changes I'll come back and delete this review and hopefully one day even make a positive one, but as of now I just wouldn't recommend this game.

100% in my top 5 games of all time, amazing characters and story

this is in my opinion the single best game i have ever played, it changed my life in very big ways and i would attribute my current life mostly to the things i got from this game

I really love this game, it is along with nier automata and drakengard 3 among my top 3 favorite games, this remake is really good and the additional ending is also something i really as well

Amazing game, someone might think it is too short but i believe that games has the perfect length to tell its story, and I liked it a lot

One of my favorite RPG games, average main story but the gameplay is really fun to me till this day and the progression is really good too

Amazing wallpapers and great variety

Very good RPG, the story is interesting and the gameplay is fun, the ability to use your spells to interact with the world even outside of combat makes the experience a lot more immersive and fun to play
