Even after six months since the launch of this game, its still a hell of a good time (no pun intended). If you're an FPS fan, (especially on the PC), THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE. Bethesda is doing a great job with all the free updates to keep it fresh and literally a steal when this game is on sale (since you are getting three games in one).

The campaign will have dozens of hours of potential replay value with all the collectibles, upgrades, and challenges. The narrative is straight forward and makes you feel like a total badass as Doom Guy shows why he's such an iconic, brutal FPS character. Couple that with the fact that the campaign is accompanied by the amazing tunes of Mick Gordon. You can challenge yourself after your first playthrough with harder difficulties and the addictive Arcade Mode. No matter how much this game beats you down with harder difficulties, you always wanna jump back in to get that satisfying sense of accomplishment when you take out the endless army of demons and intense boss battles.

The multiplayer may not be the greatest in terms of arena shooters, but still a great time altogether. Although some modes may not be very populated, most team based/deathmatch modes will have a full lobby. The skill gap may be present for newcomers to the genre, but you will get the hang of the combat in no time. Plus there's a lot to unlock and customize. Unfortunately, the game displays default red and blue team avatars on everything but deathmatch so you don't get to fully show off your customized characters. Also, the load out system takes away the satisfaction from classic arena shooters making certain weapon combinations more powerful than others (presenting a lack of variety among most players). Hopefully this multiplayer mode will change up in the inevitable sequel to make it more competitive and more in line with arena shooter roots.

I'll admit that I do not have too much time in Snap Map, but browsing through what the server has to offer in terms of custom maps, you can spend HOURS playing a variety of maps/game modes. There's even RPG modes and a "Pac Man Doom", so don't worry about a repetitive experience outside of the single player campaign. It's great to see what fans from the Doom community come up with and I may even spend time making my own map.

In conclusion, DOOM is a milestone FPS title that people have to experience. If you have a decent rig that can run this [amazing looking] game, download and fire it up. On most sales, the game with the Multiplayer Season Pass goes for a full retail game price, AND THAT'S A STEAL! You'll be playing this game for years unless id Software outdo themselves with an amazing sequel.

FIGHT LIKE HELL!

Early Access Review
This game is surprisingly fun and complex. Not much too it in terms of match ups with the starting two characters, but it has all the fundamentals to a fighting game to make it a decent learning curve (hit confirms, mix ups, footsies, etc). It really has the potential to be as big as Dive Kick or Lethal League and I highly recommend it. Fingers crossed that the community grows within this game.
