This game is a great, broken mess of fun, and you should definitely grab a friend to mess around for no reason. While it may have some issues since the character upload website is down(which you can still download/upload characters using the emulator) and freezes/crashes(which can be easily be solved in 15 seconds with a simple hosts file edit), this game plays greatly and the lack of some flaws from the sequel like minigames with ranks and overload, and a much more grounded story, you will enjoy it.

By the way, support a multi-store future, don't buy the remaster on Epic, buy this version here and/or on GOG if you have to.

I don't have much to say since I don't do reviews anymore, but I definitely enjoyed this game, combat feels like a big upgrade compared to DmC, and DMC4 too, the graphics are great, yet this game is absurdly well optimized. So I can definitely recommend this.

The gameplay of this game is nice, you can do some really crazy stuff with it, however, it's very scarce and simple in comparison to the non-reboot games in the series, specially 4 and 5. And the inclusion of a button to dodge just feels...weird with this type of game too.
The combo system is a tad broken, as you only need to switch between 1/2 moves apparently before you can repeat the other.

And I don't have to mention that the story is horrible, right? Cause it's not news at this point. It's practically your generic trope of protagonist, secretly bad guy but definitely your "friend", terrible sidekick. You can see the story from miles away, specially if you played the original games. It almost feels forced. But at least the final fight is very satisfying(until you have to figure out you need Devil trigger to finish it.)

The Vergil's DLC is more acceptable, but Vergil has a moveset that is very small for you to consistently combo without getting your ass capped by an attack. But it's not a surprise, since you only need to use 2 combos to even do a S Rank.

Had fun beginning to end with this game, it's extremely addicting going around collecting weapons and trying to find the best you can use, and the *cough* final boss *cough* was satisfying and rewarding, I still gotta finish the other gamemodes though, but can't wait to play BL3.

This game is good, even though it has already aged through the waves of time, it is still a good game, specially if you are looking to play multiplayer.

And with this, I advise you to use the Downgrader. Even if you are not playing multiplayer.

It fixes many things, you can still mods, and etc.

I'd have more hours recorded if I wasn't forced to start through 1.0's exe.

This is proof that a good gameplay will keep you in the game even if the graphics aren't good.


I just got severely addicted to this game, even though it's frustrating at first, you don't know what to do and keep dying to 80 men armies, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a really fun experience, making you jump from the chair whenever you fight army vs army, or siege a castle, a city, or fight kings, and the accomplishment of beating a army with only your companions and yourself. There are the tense moments when a huge army faces off against you, you are cornered, the calm moments, and those where you are soo excited with the battle you actually do something wrong and lose everything, feeling in despair, only for you to go out and reconstruct your army.


I have some tips for new players if you want to have a good time on the game:

Fight in tournaments, bet on yourself. Beat everyone down as fast as you can. Seriously, you can make something close to 4k of denizens in just one tournament, which may help you buy that armour or weapon you wished for soo much, or the companion in that tavern. Ah, companions.

If a companion is specialist in something, FOCUS on that. Trust me, you won't regret it, specially after you have lots of companions.

Get a horse, a two handed weapon, a shield to cover your back, and a ranged weapon for emergencies. Don't bother picking the fastest horse, armour over everything. But still get a fast horse, because the faster you are, the more damage you do. And don't forget to move around so the enemies can't strike you, and take care of one by one. Recommended to have a bow though.

With these tips here, you can make your way to beating a 40 man army solo, or with the help of your companions(Even if they'll keep falling in battle.


The graphics in the game may not bid well for many people, but don't let that fool you, that graphics isn't the most important thing, but the incredible combat system it has, instantly putting you in excitement when facing 3 enemies at the same time, and being cornered, having to find a way to kill them all by finding which direction they won't block, just like For Honor, but better, no lock-on system necessary.

And if you're gonna try multiplayer, I hope you do your training well, because if you don't, most players will beat you down incredibly easy, or snipe a headshot outta nowhere.

I can just say, I love this game now. 33 hours well spent, and still counting after this review! Just don't take it to heart.

I have played DMC 3 everywhere that it is possible, from the PS2 to PC, it always stays the same, and awesome and incredible game, that surpasses the reboot in story and characters, and clashes in gameplay with it, if you're one of these people with an OCD to perfect things, boy, You'll suffer here. And love it.

This is a great hack'n'slash game and all, I love this series alot and I'm a great fan, but this PC port is completely borked. Depending on hardware, it can either have horrible performance issues, or not even start at all, no matter what you do, so I don't recommend buying this until Capcom lifts their asses and come fix and promote again this great game.

The only way you can run the game without modding it is probably having the supported specs. Because anything else is impossible.

Yeah I know, you can mod it to fix stuff and add style switching, and delete sounds files to fix performance, but that's stuff fans/users have to do. The game shouldn't be ready and broken to the consumer like this. I'd consider rebuying it if the price remained the same and problems were fixed.

Bad Capcom.

This is probably the only decent and well-made eroge RPG game I have found on Steam soo far, because different from *certain games*, this one comes with a proper translation, the art has a great quality, which I guess is 720p, but it's still GREAT, the gameplay is actually good and well done, which is the main reason I kept playing past the 6 hours.
Not to mention, the dev is actually active, and trying to fix any typos and bugs he can! Kudos to him! More devs like these are needed in gaming industry!

If you're really looking for a game like this soo much, just grab this, it's worth the full price.
