While there is a lot to like and appreciate in this DJ Max collection, while I want to sing it's praises and recommend it to friends, I absolutely can't recommend anything to anyone with DRM that prevents it from working during an internet outage.

If for any reason the players' internet goes out, this game is a very expensive waste of hard drive space. If I could demand a refund at this point, I would. I might be glad there's no stupid touchscreen gimmicks and I might like the idea behind "AIR" mode, but it's all irrelevant and wasted because the anti-cheat will not let the game boot without an active internet connection.

Of course, if none of this is a concern for you then by all means; the game is solid with some kickin' tunes both new and old.

This is the sort of title all true sequels should strive to be, the evolution of a concept in every direction.

This game opens with a pretentious-sounding quote against a black screen.
Thankfully this never repeats, but what is most important is that the game absolutely delivers on the pretentious-sounding quote.
