Although the storyline is pretty lame and repetitive, there is a huge amount of fun to be had in throwing cars at helicopters, slicing pedestrians in half and stealing helicopters.
Decent graphics, great gameplay, meh storyline.

It's a great game with some amazing visuals- not to mention the great graphics and endless cars to drive- and is worth buying just to drive around. There were barely any cons to it, but the main one for me was that there's a lack of other cars, so to speak. There was very little traffic and that somewhat reduced the realism of the game for me.
Aside from that, I don't regret buying the game, having thoroughly enjoyed every minute that I've played of it.

This game is the reason I got Steam and I certainly don't regret it. There's so much to do and the community is simply brilliant.

Even though there were limitations to the open world-ness of the game (it would have been amazing had it been truly open world) this game has one of the best storylines you could hope for. You play as Vito Scaletta, an Italian war veteran and up and coming gangster in Empire Bay, reunited with a childhood friend- Joe Barbero. After coming back from the war, you start a new life with Joe guiding you. The gameplay is excellent with some great voice actors and such. Well worth buying even at full price.
