Wait several months, game is ass right now.

The core game (from what little ive been able to play) good enough, but this needs a lot of work to become good.

Barely passable UI
absolutely baffling awful matchmaking (you literally had an immersive and useful matchmaking system with crime.net on PD2, how could u possibly screw up this bad)
Meh progression

This game is honestly super fun and enjoyable.
Provided you don't crash or freeze every few minutes.
This is legitimately one of the least stable games ever released, this game makes ultra modded Bethesda games look stable.
Also there is a notable lack of maps, perhaps its my imagination but MW19 felt like it had significantly more maps (and better ones imo) at launch.

Also bring back Cyber attack (legit my favourite mode to date)

If Activision can pull their heads out of their booty holes and fix the stability of the game well then we may have one of the better cods on our hands.

As the game is right now, it certainly is not worth the asking price. Hopefully with some more updates in the coming months these issues will be ironed out.

Clunky and Fundamentally unfun. I barely managed 30 minutes of this game before I wanted to rip my headset off and refund it.

The concepts of the game aren't bad, in fact, they are quite intriguing and tap in the essence of a zombie survival experience, scavaging for supplies, fighting off the undead and rebuilding society.

But unfortunately, Onslaught barely passes in aspects I should thrive in and fails in others.

In many ways, this game feels like the VR equivalent of TWD Survival instinct and fails in arguably the most important department for me, the combat. Where one TWD Saints and Sinners' most enjoyable aspects were its combat and scavaging, Onslaught tries a similar style but does so in the most unenjoyable and clunky way, with stabbing walkers feeling like a passing a 1000 degree knife through soft butter, and Walkers taking multiple headshots from the starting pistol, even at point-blank range.
Part of the problem might be the practically non-existent sound effects for melee'ing zombies, and the experience could be drastically improved if the sound effects had some crunch too them.

Scavaging is simplified which does fit the games more arcade-style which does make the process more streamlined and fast, which isn't a negative in its own right, just different styles

Lastly, the whole, Alexandria part, of the game, the rebuilding aspect of the game. To be fair i haven't truly played enough to see all of it, but if its as bare-bones as it appears, then my god, why even bother including it, its just window dressing, you cant explore Alexandria, your stuck behind a fence, and you have a small area about maybe 20 meters square to move around in.

I don't doubt that a lot of work has gone into this game, and I have no illusions about how difficult game development is, especially with our little pandemic going on, but the main problems with this game go back almost to the original design documents and pitch for the game.
Unless some major patches roll through and rework almost the entire game, I can't see myself ever picking this thing up again even at 70% off.

I only ever got the chance to finish DAH 1 once when i was a kid, by my god did i ever play the 2 to death, First game i ever 100%'ed.
Play this game reminded me of a simpler time, and had me genuinely laughing out loud whilst playing at the dialogue.
This is a beautiful recreation of classic that runs near flawlessly (i only experienced once crash in the final mission when i died) and a must buy for fans of the DAH series.

Now hopefully we can get the whole series remade, fingers crossed.

Now with 100% more invasive anti-cheat malware.

I refuse to believe they play tested this new UI.
Ill be the first to admit that hunt's previous ui had some issues but dear lord.
It is now an utterly confusing 'Hulu'Ass' Mess.
If you thought that COD had some bad UI design for MW2, then my god your in for a treat.
Everything else in the update is great but there are some very minor things to like about the UI (Legendary hunters in a grid format and the Lobby screen is kinda nice), but the vast majority of all the ui changes are just, bad.

I know they said it was to improve the experience on console.....but honestly, im not even sure if they managed that.
I think console players may prefer the, pseudo mouse cursor this, travesty.




-Original Review before 1896 update-

Hunt Showdown is perhaps one of my favourite games in the last 10 years.

While yes, at its core, it is a battle royale game, hunt showdown brings its own, rather unique take on the now, over cooked genre.
Hunt showdown adds clear objectives that players fight over in the form of boss monsters, which players must kill, banish and extract with. By picking up a bounty token, u become the target.
This rather simple formula, creates one of the most fun games and situations I've played. It brings me back to the days of DayZ (arma mod) and hunting down other players by the simple noise they make, whether in this case, it be a flock of crows, dog barking or gunshots.

I've been playing Hunt showdown since about 0.2, and while the game has changed a decent amount, arguably become more 'Casual' I think, overall its a good thing, as it can help bolster the community with new members, but make no mistake, the game still has a steeeep learning curve, and you will be stomped into the ground of you play stupid.

If you are on the fence about the game, I'd say take the plunge, especially if you have some friends looking to play.
Also if you by the game, join the hunts discord (links are all over the place, including in game). Its the best way to communicate with randoms or to join a duo or trio group.


P.S. The sound Track is absolutely kick ass!

In what other game is you rekt ♥♥♥♥ in a spider tank while listening to 'The Day Is My Enemy' by 'The Prodigy'

Well as most ppl here, i got this for free for owning TES V Legendary edition.

Positives:
Runs significantly better than FO4 does (for me at least FO4 ran comparable to Arkam Knight) on my PC (i5 4670k OC 4ghz, 16gb RAM, ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4GB)
Looks Nice
Improved lighting really helps the game
Already has mod support for mods like Frostfall (well done Chesko)



Negatives:

It still has some of the negatives that regular skyrim has such as (and this IMO is a big one) NO 7.1 Audio support, so break out a pair of earphones and run urself razors virtual surround sound m8 because otherwise ur gonna get pissed real quick.



Never the less its a good game and worth getting over the original despite the current lack of mods.

Ive played many survival games in my time, some good, some not so good, and i know of many many other ones that make you want to slit ur own throat, take a ♥♥♥♥ in your hands then shove it down ur open throat.


But Subnautica, well thats a different story.
For me, it all began on youtube. As a young lad browsing my sub box on my old ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ipod 4 one night, i came across something that caught my attention. FrankieOnPcIn1080p released a new video :0. My young self lept up in joy as i knew without a doubt it would be a wonderful and enjoyable video. As the page loaded i did not care what the title was or what it was about i just knew i would love every second of it.

As the video played, my excitement and wonder was instantly captured as he swam through a cave with jellyfish, my mind noting the Sci-Fi, alien look of the models and enviroment.

From that Fateful day, i knew i would one day play this game, once i had they money, and a decent PC.


Fast forward to January of 2016 and this young lad had a quick search through his wishlist on steam and a game caught his eye. Subnautica.

After work the one day our young diver sprinted to his local game store and acquired a Steam Wallet code. Speeding him he typed he code in with lightning speed and purchased a copy of subnautica. He was never seen again, it is assumed he drowned on an alien planet.



Well if u have made it this far congrats, ur reward is my actual review.

The game is well made and has increadible potential, unknownworlds has done an amzing job creating a world filled to the brim with wonderful (and terrifying) creatures (and hellish abominations [Reaper]) that i have spent hours reading about in game and on the wiki, squeezing ever ounce of lore and info out of. Honestly if UW continues to take their time and pour love and care into this game when it finally releases it will likely win tons of awards and be game of the year even if HL3 releases in the same year.


Pros:

Wonderful Creatures
Pretty
Unique design
Sound design is great
Incredibly fun

Cons:
Performance with the powernap update for me is a bit iffy, stutters even though i have a pretty good pc [16gb ddr3 ram, i5 4670k quad core 3.4ghz (oc 4ghz), gtx 970] however i assume if its on a SSD there would likely be no problem however it should still be noted and this issue will likely be fixed with later updates.

I used to be scared of the ocean, now i am terrified.
