Sort of like Skyrim, but with guns, better graphics, more stability, better story, better stealth system, better progression.

Do not give this developer, Fatshark, your money, or your time and effort. They value neither.
The developer has a bleak history of handling their customer relationships. The way they treat their customers is utterly indefensible - once they have your money, you cease to matter. They will just replace you with an influx of new people from a sale/promotion cash grab.

For all the things they got "right" - it is very important to clearly understand that no matter how many things you find to enjoy, and how hard you work to learn the game and do well - the developer does not care about invalidating your time and effort with heavy-handed, ham-fisted nerfs to broad swathes of gear, talents, blessings and enemies - all at once with little to no apparent care of how these things will impact players in aggregate, They do not adequately test things and do not listen to community feedback - even from the folks that have kept their game afloat since its reprehensible state at release.

When they do "balance" patches, you may find your self in the utterly demoralizing position of having your hard work and time investment crumpled up and tossed out and have to face the prospect of trying to test and research and experiment more to find another configuration for your character that is effective and/or fun.

If you dare to complain about treating customers this way - you can expect the community, you know, the players you are supposed to have on your *team* dogpile you with rude, dismissive, and downright dishonest nonsense that either totally misrepresents your feedback, or entirely ignores it in an attempt to "discredit" you and drive your feedback thread off topic. The rule breaking posters will be allowed to continue maligning you, and if you refuse to let them get away with it, you will just have your posting privileges turned off so nobody has to deal with their nonsense being rebutted - and you get to watch more and more of these rule breakers pile on at your expense.

Not only will you get almost no support from the community, or the developers, but also there will be zero indication or reason to suspect that even if you do all this needless extra slog and grind to replace and upgrade your gear - that the developers wont then invalidate THAT new setup in their next "balance" patch. They are not shy about swinging the nerf bat with abandon, and they do not care if it ruins your experience and wastes your time. They are not interested in doing things in a better way. They will punish you for working hard and learning what works well in their game, Doesnt matter if your setup is FAR from "meta" or "OP", doesnt matter if you cant find enjoyment in whatever options the developers try to encour-ahem, "force" on the playerbase.

You will take whatever scraps of fun they deign to leave for you - and you will slog away in their game grinding to fix what they took from you, resenting their treatment and enjoying the game less each time. And if you complain, woe betide you, peasant. If the community doesn't utterly demoralize you, you can look forward to the cloud of despair that future patches will put you through all of the same soul crushing rubbish, all over again - as your pleas for consideration go utterly unheeded. STEER CLEAR of Fatshark.

Pro: Pretty much everything, especially the story. Worthy successor to PS:T.

Con: Folks who don't like spending a lot of time reading text may object to the primary mechanism for delivering the richly detailed story.

Game has some minor bug issues, but well worth the price - quality story, decent combat, good character progression, decent loot system.

The DLC version of this game is simply fantastic. The Director's Cut is the culmination of HBS' response to the feedback from the community and fans. It was nearly perfect before the standalone release. Now we can look forward to more content and polished and improved versions of the existing? Mind. Blown.

High-Quality Dialogue, Story, Combat, Equipment, Progression, Discovery, and even some painful moral quandaries were found within. It is an absolute steal for the price, and while I do not normally replay game very much after I complete them, this one will have me replaying each archetypical character build to experience the feel of the improved content from various perspectives, both regarding combat and PC personality.
