Never played a CRPG before, but this game is amazing if you can take the time to learn all of the mechanics and adjust to a slower but variable pace. I am not a DnD player or anything similar, I play counter strike. It took me about 150 hours to do my first playthrough, but I chose to learn everything as I went and I tried to explore all of the content possible without guides. One of the most immersive experiences I've had, but I also think you get out of it whatever you put in, so if you are not ready to lean into the heavy fantasy elements and learn to abuse the punishing combat system, stay away. I cannot stress this enough, about half of my friends who have this game and are like me did not finish it. If you want to get your money's worth out of this game and you try, you will. By act 3, I just wanted my playthrough to last forever. I won't even touch on the story because that is undoubtedly the main draw of this game, and I had an excellent experience even with some spoilers.
