This is an absolutely terrible game. As a left handed person I can tell you that you'll be turned off in less than 5 minutes of starting the game.

Musket Balls flying and stabbing bayonets. Reloading takes a long time, just like a real musket- you can have perfect accuracy but your gun sucks so the ball will fly off in some random direction. If you try to reload you can't stop until it's done, but it's too late, the British Soldier is already running at you and has 4 seconds of free time to stab at ya'. This game is all about melee combat prowess.

Best revolutionary war FPS game you can find, with a tight knit community and people willing to teach and give tips. Dead game during late night and early morning, but thriving during the power hours. Give it a shot, but aim with Q and crouch, so you don't think the game's a total miss.

Do you like Dark Souls? Do you like Top-Down rougelites, or a little bullet hell mixed in? Do you like being able to dodgeroll out of danger like a boss and never feel like you stopped trying to also attack? Do you like simple and clean mechanics with some high difficulty curve? If you said yes three or more times this game is short and sweet, but it's worth it's price.
This is no slow bullet hell, Binding Of Issac or Enter The Gungeon kind of copy cat- no. This is a beast of it's own with a haunting story.
Little spoiler: NPC's but no enemies- only boss doors and the boss behind it.

Good luck.

This was a good game on the PS2. It's still a great game.

It's got a couple issues with using a controller, wherein it expects people to know what "button 1" through "button 8" is and doesn't read the ESC key or anything important to the system via the controller, so you will still be pushing some keyboard buttons from time to time.

We never said EA was good at what they do if lots of money isn't guaranteed, all I'm saying is this game is still fun with it's flaws included. Aged well.

Arguably the best CoD single player and multiplayer experience there is. Weapon balance? Who cares, just make all the guns OP.
Good fun.

Just a failed attempt to use an archaic and unoptomized engine to create a modern take of those korean FPS grindfests, with no changes even attempted to hide it.

A regular fiesta de culo. 5/10. If you have any other game to play, it's most likely a better use of your time.

Trashy shovelware game. This is for facebook, not steam. Get rid of this garbage, don't bother trying it. It's a farmville equivilent.

Amazing game, putting in about 5 hours in one sitting felt easy.
There isn't much left to be desired here, as the RPG elements feel a bit like Legend of Dragoon and Final Fantasy jumbled together- making an amazingly fluid "timeline" flow to a fight. Old fans of Final Fantasy's active battle timer will feel right at home. The ammount of characters available + their branching skill tree enables... a degree of freedom to point the growth of an ally in the direction you desire.

Downside? Well.. everything has one, right? What's the big bummer here is...
UPlay. It's absolute garbage and everyone knows it.
Luckily, theres an upside! It integrates perfectly into the backround of STEAM, only requiring the player to make an account.
After I beat the game, and feel satisfied, I'll simply uninstall and wash my hands of the P.O.S. digital platform. Luckily, it's easy to do.

Downloadable content? Yeah, completely unrequired. You don't need more oculi, or the golam, or the Dark/Light Aroura pack to have a 100% experience. I do enjoy the golem myself, and was worth 2.99 for an interesting power-house- but he's not overpowered, or deminishing from the whole experience. Most importantly, he doesn't make any fights easier, just changes the strategy and flow of battle.

The story so far is absolutely enchanting, I only stopped playing even after the 5 hour session because I was dozing off.
Controls feel nice, simple to grasp, and satisfying on both mouse/keyboard AND controller! That's usually not a thing in RPG's, but it shows a lot of effort was put into allowing players to choose their prefered method without feeling limited.

I'de love to see some sort of expansion to the entire story in the form of a "2nd quest" DLC, either as a new game entirely or addon.
Unfortunately, nothing is really ground breaking or entirely unique. Many features drag the player away from satisfaction, or simply "tempt" the player in using their dumb-ass "Uplay points" to get free oculi or stardusts, which feels like we're "not getting something we deserve". It's a bad model, and if Ubisoft wants to fit in with the big boys, they should act like it.
6/10.
It's sad that this game will be forgotton by many people after it's been beat- and only because of Ubisoft's garbage business model- not the game itself. Then again, I don't think any of us think the folks are Ubisoft are crying over it.

Play it, beat it, uninstall and forget about it.
