It wasn't for me. Fundamentally, the problems with the game all arise from the fact that moving around is slow, not particularly enjoyable, and does not involve meaningful gameplay vis a vis challenge or interactivity. The puzzles aren't fun because they too often revolve around you painstakingly meandering around the area, moving things back and forth and forth and back. The exploration isn't fun because it's slow but also requires no mechanical effort or skill. The collecting and discovering isn't fun because the game's linearity means it feels like a chore you have to complete before you move on instead of an opportunity, exacerbated by the game's intentional vagueness (which I otherwise do not find fault with) making it unclear when you are actually pushing yourself past a point of no return. It's trying to be meditative but ends up feeling plodding.

First, I'm reviewing this solely for the summer sale.

As to the actual game, here's the good:

-Many Builds are very fun
-Writing is pretty solid as long as you are ok with the fact that you are not the main character.
-Mr. Torgue and D&D are the best DLCs (that I've played). Pirates and Hunt are meh. Never bothered with the "headhunters" and haven't gotten around to the fight for sanctuary.
-Much more enemy, environment, and playstyle variety than the first game

The bad:

-Drop rates are absolute **** even after they tripled them years ago from what they started as. The game is very very grindy after you get past the first playthrough.
-Endgame is completely unbalanced and you just have to accept it. No other class even compares to the gunzerker, especially after they kept nerfing the other classes' only builds that could compete over and over again.
-The word "badass" has been driven into the ground and this game is the primary culprit.

As much as the gameplay is great, the soundtrack is fantastic, the atmosphere is superb, and any number of things that I would gladly recommend this game in a heartbeat for, my recommendation is not without caveat.

Myself and other persons had been having catastrophic crash issues from the Lifeblood update several months ago until some point before 3/4/19. I had requested support on multiple occasions, as had others, but no one received any reply related to that issue. As much as it has to do with Team Cherry being 3 people, I cannot give a full-throated recommendation when problems take nearly a year to get fixed and the developers don't send you so much as a "we're working on it," whether in the forums or through their *dedicated support email address* that I contacted. Be wary that if the game ends up having any performance issues, you cannot count on them being fixed any time soon.

Scribblenauts Unlimited has both ups and downs when compared to other entries in the series. The main puzzle-solving content is less filled-out than previous games, and on the whole it is significantly easier than some of the challenges presented by earlier games. In this light, it is generally not as good of a puzzle game as its predecessor. Largely, the game shines because of the Community workshop, allowing players to integrate customized words into the game's framework to mess around with (though there are fewer options of locale to mess around in, a sorry loss from the previous game).

The game has added significantly with regards to the words you can use, but it has unfortunately taken something away from the other endearing features of the series.
