ROCK AND STONE

Step 1: Acquire whimsical and outrageously large weapon.
Step 3: Do some jumpy shooty.
Step 3: Explode, dismantle, or otherwise murder entire armies and hoards of goons.
Step 4: Acquire a new weapon that's even more whimsical and larger than the last.

Hell yeah baby this is Ratchet and Clank, so much nostalgia bringing me back to when I was first playing this series on the PS2. This series has been around for long enough that multiple generations grew up with it, some like me grew up with the og PS2 quadrilogy, others have grown up with the future series, words cannot express how happy I am to see this title introduce a whole new group of people to the series, it getting a port like this bodes well for the future of Ratchet and Clank, and I hope the series continues to get banger entries like this one.

I have had a grand total of 3 crashes across 3 playing sessions, which seemed to happen after playing for a few hours, and tbh that likely is the fault of my hardware as I am playing on a laptop, that being said the game plays beautifully smoothly and looks absolutely gorgeous. The only thing that could make this game better is if David Bergeaud were to return, that being said however, the music is still good.

My computer has a 11th gen Intel i7 @2.30 GHz, 32 GB RAM, a Nvidia RTX 3080 with 16 GB, and the game is installed on a SSD.

I completed this campaign on legend difficulty with one of my closest friends, and we had an absolute blast, that being said, the story just ain't it. Both of us throughout the slightly over 8-hour run of this DLC constantly asked "What?" or told Nimbus and Osiris to "shut the ♥♥♥♥ up." We entered this campaign with many questions and left with even more.

The gameplay was as expected of Bungie and Destiny, in general, it was great and had fantastic moments, while it wasn't near the level of Witch Queen as a whole it still was fantastic, and a hill I will die on is the encounter in the last mission where you fight hoards of Shadow Legion alongside Caital and her Cabal was one of if not the best encounter we have had in Destiny. However, that does not excuse the rushed and poorly executed story that left us just saying "what?" and "that's it?" As a whole this expansion feels spliced together, made in a rush, and overall mediocre, I don't think as many are saying this is the worst expansion to date (cough cough shadowkeep) but it certainly is far from even a near miss. Overall this amounts to the unfortunate status quo to be expected of Bungie: Excellent gameplay, and substandard storytelling.
