Games that paradox publishes or makes are famous for coming out half-assed and need a ton of DLC to become good. Usually i can get over it, wait for the DLCs, be the sucker to buy them. Like i do with EUIV, CK3, Age of Wonders 4, Stellaris and i got a good review for them all.

But THIS seriously feels like an Early access game that is not even late into its early access but only has its skeleton built. The skeleton may have some really good ideas and could be great, but this still only feels like the skeleton of a game.

Makes me wonder if the Devs just did not care and released it in this state or if paradox forced them to release it and say "eh, we can add DLC to maybe fix it in 4 years"

Exactly what i have been waiting for ever since i finished dragons dogma 1.

Performance needs a bit of work but everything else is top notch.

Annoyed at patches that create gamebreaking bugs like Judgement crashing the game. Either roll it back or make a hotfix in a day. We played the game just fine with out this patch and could continue to do so with out it.

Very well fleshed out faction. Many unique units and far more mechanics.

There are way too many problems for a thumbs up.

Reasons for this:
(I played the game on veteran difficulty (second last hardest, this is where the AI already cheats)

1. Auto resolve is broken. It constantly tells me MASSIVE DEFEAT, then i do it myself it is an EASY Great victory.
2. Units sometimes just run around wont and go into trenches
3. Units leave trenches for no good reason instead of moving along the trench line.
4. Planes sometimes work sometimes do not. Sometimes when i call in a bomber it drops a single bomb and leaves. It feels like a 5 year old pilots all the planes when i look at wtf they are doing.
5. Get tanks, that is all you need. I just put down 4-6 tanks and they quite literally roll over the ENTIRE map. It stops having any strategy what so ever, just tanks and they roll over EVERYTHING.
6. What you do on the worldmap honestly does not matter. Buying anything but more tanks and planes is a total waste of resources. The buildings and other things do not matter at all, the effect they give is far too little for far too much gold.
7. There are ways to cheese what the enemies do with their units on the world map, making them put everything in 1 corner so you can just roll over everything else (there are youtube tutorials on this)
8. It gets VERY VEEEEEEEEEEERY repetitive, since auto reslove just makes u lose everything. You will have to fight on the same map OVER and OVER and OVER doing the exact same thing OVER and OVER and OVER.

After i finished the 2+ hour tutorial, at first i was hey this is pretty good. Tons of strategy. However once i grasped what to do, it becomes easy with no real strategy.

If all of this could be fixed, it might be a good game, but for some of them i do not even see a solution, especially point 9.

This game has so much that i wanted from Civ games. Some patches and a few DLCS will make this game the best historic 4x.

This is FAR better then civ 5 or 6 was at launch. Then look at what DLCs did to those games, i cant imagine what DLCs will do to this.
