If you're a huge Somnium Files fan like me then this game is like maybe marginally worth playing if it were cheaper? But it really is just nothing. It feels like doing sidequests in FF14 or something there's just absolutely no heart or soul to the characters, both the old ones and new (old ones are reduced to exclusively memes basically). There's a part in the middle where you pointlessly talk to many side-characters just so they can have cameos then you do it again at the end. The Escape Room puzzles are sometimes ok but they instantly give you hints constantly that trivialize most of them and then a few are extremely cryptic and don't give hints (in a case or two I honestly have to wonder if it was a localization issue cause some of what they do say actively can set you in the wrong direction). The Somniums aren't very good either, they use the same system from the 2nd game which is much less good than the system of the first. The story is just completely pointless and even Date says it was a waste of time at the end. The only relevant thing at all is seeing Pewter get out of jail but its basically a cop-out anyway. It goes on for way too long with boring scenes despite being half the length of the real Somnium Games. If you're a huge fan like me its marginally ok, if you're anyone else stay away.

I have like so many complaints about the design of this game in terms of like:
-annoying af damage cap until act 3
-after act 3 you can one shot everything because the damage cap is removed altogether
-doing any side content makes you way overpowered for main quest
-rpg mechanics can be ignored for 99% of the game cause you can just parry which is broken
-the balancing and tuning in general is just way out of whack
-the lumina system kinda sucks cause it means most of the game you're cycling in pictos just to learn them rather than strategizing
-the ui is actually insanely bad

but honestly it doesn't really matter the game is super good

I'm just getting too bored to continue. It is very tedious, perhaps somewhat by design since it is about being on a long road trip.. but I was hoping for more interesting events and characters but instead I just keep finding myself getting annoyed and looking at the map and seeing how far away everything always is. I dunno, played a few hours and semi-enjoyed but I just can't see myself getting all the endings the way I had expected to want to when I heard about the game.

Very cool game, though not the longest. That said its apparent that there are some secrets and at least one bad ending that could be sought after too. I enjoyed the first one as well but this I felt was an improvement over it. The story is straight-forward but doesn't overburden itself with a lot of unnecessary dialogue or anything and tells the story it wants to tell simply and well. Didn't experience any major bugs and overall it is very polished and looks great with the PS1 area making sense in the context of the story this time in addition to just being a cool aesthetic. Definitely seems to have some SH4 The Room inspirations as well as touches of PT and Homebody.

Early Access Review
The game has incredible vibes, funny cutscenes, cool animations, fun gameplay, and an unexpected mix of mechanics.

However, it is almost unplayably buggy and is apparent right from the start. If I'm being honest, I don't recommend it in this state, but I think once it is out of early access it will be fantastic.

There's a ton of minor bugs like small visual things and common-place game bugs like falling down when you load into a new area or characters/objects spawning in after a frame of not being visible.. but there's also been some more frustrating bugs. For example I regularly lose the ability to attack or roll until I jump and land again for some reason, and now I'm at a point where everytime I go in the water I skyrocket into the sky (which, honestly, given the story event that just happened... not that immersion breaking!).

Very sick game, I'll probably finish it in this state eventually but the crazy amount of bugs is kind of why I normally avoid early access. Maybe consider buying the game and letting it sit in your backlog until its actually released to support the dev, though?

Fun and cute little platformer. Perhaps slightly overwhelmingly cute at times for some. Easy but fun experience. Quick to 100% but has some bonus content after the credits that is basically just more of the normal game. Worth getting, good price at $10, full price maybe slightly high.

Wonderful game! I think its a little short for full price but great at discount price. The narrative immediately annoyed since it was grating and also was instantly spoiling puzzles so I set speech volume to 0 and subtitles off and the game was fantastic! Each area introduces new mechanics and it is interesting from start to finish. The main levels are mostly straightforward but some of the optional ones are tricky and a lot of fun. I think the last level being timed is a little questionable but as someone who enjoyed Temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass I still had quite a bit of fun using strategies to go a lot faster like taking a picture of the radio to skip one area or taking an extra copy of the picture of myself to skip another area. Definitely recommend to anyone that likes puzzle games and technically the way they managed to achieve this is so cool, in particular the aspect of splitting geometery.

Cool game that is a little short for the price. With the way the ending went, I would have liked one more sequence with the final monster in some way.

The game is fairly varied throughout but a little hit or miss, but no segment lasts so long to overstay its welcome, and because of the varied nature of the gameplay even if a sequence loses its edge by the end of it you'll soon have something mechanically different, so it manages to be fairly unnerving throughout. The "PS1" area was definitely the highlight, but the rest was good too. Will be interesting to see what the rest of the anthology will contain as there were some unexplained elements to the narrative that feel like they could link to a larger story.
