First, I'd like to start off by saying that I've been supporting this since way back at the beginning of the early access which I think has been around 2 years ago now. It's been quite an amazing journey seeing how much this game has grown and evolved since the beginning. Now that it's had the 1.0 release, it's been lovely seeing all the new content and classes that's come along with it.

Now, what exactly is Core Keeper? It's kind of a blend of several things but a good way to describe it would be a 'sandbox boss rush', Your main goal is basically to explore biomes, defeat bosses and gain upgrades to progress further. But aside from that you can focus on other things such as farming, fishing, building your base, taking care of creatures like cows and goats. You could probably compare Core Keeper to kind of a blend of Minecraft/Terraria/Stardew Valley. If that's the kind of game you enjoy then you'll likely enjoy playing Core Keeper. If you enjoy stuff that's on the more technical side, you can mess around with wiring (which is kind of like redstone circuits in Minecraft) or even make yourself things like mob farms.

The game itself is fairly flexible for multiple playstyles. If you like giving yourself a challenge, you can bump up the difficulty for tougher mobs/bosses. But if you prefer a more casual playthough, then you can turn the settings down and play through the game at your own pace, Personally with a game like Core Keeper, I like going at my own pace and make different builds and contraptions.

Now going into the combat systems, I would say to just find a combat style that you prefer and then proceed from there. In the long run, you'll be able to max out all the skills. Within the skill trees you will find quite a few skills that can benefit other combat styles so you can mix and match to make a preferred build. Now if you end up wanting to change to a different combat style, it costs very little to respec your skill stats. Each combat style has its pros and cons but you could opt for a hybrid of classes if you prefer whether it be melee, ranged, mage or summoner. I will give a slight warning though that at it's current state, the summoner class feels a bit lacking as a main class because of a lack of options and mana cost. Now this may change in the future so if that happens then disregard this warning. Summoner is however a very nice subclass that can give you extra damage alongside your main combat style.

I'll end this off with some closing remarks. I've sunken in hundreds of hours into this game and it's been a ton of fun. Core Keeper has been one of my go-to games for whenever I need something comfy to unwind with and destress from work. The music that each biome has is very lovely to listen to and really adds to the atmosphere as you explore. The devs will still be adding in new updates in the future so there'll be new content to check out from time to time. I highly recommend trying out this game if you haven't already and I wish you a wonderful adventure checking out Core Keeper!
