I like it, it's fun. Maybe giving me the scratch to the itch after Deliver Us The Moon. However, it's very crashy, and it shouldn't be on my system, especially for a GPU crash.

R9 9950X3D
7900XTX
64GB DDR5 6000

Can't recommend until crashes are fixed but, other than that, I really like it.

Honestly, I can't recommend this game.

The AI is just absolutely horrible. I have ai's that go "can't do that boss" and stop extinguishing a fire. I have ai's that will find a person unconscious, and then turn to connect the supply hose that I've already connected leaving them there to die. I have ai that only focus on extinguishing one mote of fire at a time, instead of playing the hose, knocking down multiple at once. The ai for me, only work when they're all together extinguishing with foam. I told an AI to extinguish fire. and he went, got an axe, broke open a door and then stood there. A mission that should have ben 10-15 minutes was 30 because I basically had to do everything myself, as if I had no ai.

If you do buy this game, I really hope you enjoy driving ladder trucks, because that's about the only thing you'll drive after you unlock it. Almost every single mission recommends the 100' ladder truck, and you cannot change your second unit response vehicle.

We had better AI for firefighting games 20 years ago when Montecristo put out the fire captain series.

I played this game near to a year ago now. I have wanted to write a review ever since I played it but have struggled to find the right words to put in here about it, and to some extent... I still have trouble.

This game isn't technically a game to me. It's an interactive movie interlaced with a group creative writing exercise. And I love it. l love it so dearly.

I have two recommendations; the first being how you play: This game is not played. It is experienced, and the whole thing is best tied together if played in one sitting, preferably started in the evening and played into the night.

The second: This game did a very good job at one overarching theme. You are alone. Completely and utterly alone. I'm not talking like Wolfenstein where you often hear characters and sometimes get to interact with them and you get to hear BJ's thoughts. In this, there is nothing. You talk to no-one. You very rarely hear someone trying to talk to you. The only time you hear talking is in the audio/video playbacks that you find, which is how the story is told. There is no-one for your character to talk to. I don't even think the PC talks at all.

I walked into this game thinking it was something else, like a strategy game or something. I could not have been more wrong, and I couldn't be happier about it. I wish more games surprised me like this one did.

Like Deliver Us The Moon, I played this in one sitting. This game is a little bit shorter, (even with some of the puzzles and me getting distracted by other things but, the length of the game is irrelevant.

Just like the first game, the story told is compelling, emotional, and thought provoking. The main difference in this one is that the story is told in a more traditional manner, with a speaking player character and "AI" teammates (coworkers really, you still do literally all the work) whereas the original game's story is told through holograms, echos, tablet entries and audiologs. I liked this game a little bit more than the first simply because I didn't feel alone for most of the game.

My only critiques: some of the mini mpt puzzles are tedius and downright frustrating. The wall climbing sections can be equally or even more frustrating, as they take so long to complete and some of the checkpoints are too far apart to be meaningful help in those sections. Make no mistake, this is a walking simulator with frustrating puzzles and maddening wall climb sections.

That said the story told is so well worth the time spent doing the puzzles and wall climbs. To some extent, I don't consider this a game/simulator. I see this series as an interactive movie. If you value good storytelling and don't mind some frustrating puzzles here and there, I highly recommend this. It's fantastic. I would watch a movie made out of the two games.

While I like the nostalgic callback feeling to the Fire Department games, even this is lacking in terms of capability. As someone else said, you can't break windows to spray through them.

The whole "firefighters are just mobile extinguishers and need hoses" comment I believe, would make the game far too easy. It's a management of on-site resources rather than a waiting game.

From a nostalgic point of view this game is a revival of a 20 year old series, and does a great job of re-creating the style of play required that was present in Fire Department.

From a modern and critical point of view, the game is lacking in feature, function, and accuracy. 20 years ago, you could break windows and extinguish fires through them. Windows are just as impassable as walls in this game. There is no ability to customise the deployment of vehicles to any call, no reinforcements to call if it gets too much. No flexibility in mission parameters, if even one civilian dies, you have to restart. The beginning missions are quite difficult to beat with only 3 firefighters responding with no skill improvements available. Fire only moves by burning adjacent objects, heat radiation or from leaves dropping out of trees. (Though I thought that was a neat touch) There is no flashover or backdraft mechanics.

A nitpick for me is that smoke is cleared out of buildings as the number of fires is reduced, not over time as windows (that can't be broken) are broken or doors smashed.

In conclusion, I think this game should only be purchased when it is on sale, and you want something to remind you of the Fire Department series of old. Other than that, I think it would be a waste of money.

I'm trying my absolute hardest to like this game but, there's one big trip up for me. I've been trying to couple up to 5 cars for the past hour and a half but, the game keeps spawning cars in front of the spot I want to hook up to. 1/25/19

Update: I must have done something wrong, but I finally got everything hooked up and off. 1/26/19

If you just wanna play with trains and you don't mind a quick tutorial each time you start until savegames are implemented, this is a great game. 1/25/19

Update: Since the last writing, savegames have been partially implemented. Your position in the world is saved, and any unlocks, and money are save. However train positions and jobs are not currently saved. so everything will reset upon restarting. Try to exit near a station otherwise you'll be spending some quality time with Shift+W 1/26/19

Derailing is currently a "game breaking" thing as trains can't be reset unless you quit and restart. So try to not derail halfway to your stop. 1/26/19

The game is also very tough with it's physics. I wish it was a little easier but, it's my own fault for trying to speed through it. 1/25/19

It is demanding, I have a GTX 1060 6GB, and it's pushed to the max trying to run this. It can do it but, not well.

I will edit this with each update.

It is physically impossible to update this with each game update. They update atl east 3 times a week. 2-21-19

I have not bought this game (yet) but i played it in the free weekend. I loved it, I love how realistic it sounds. Sure the no bipods are a little bit annoying. But the game is continually tweaked and small things will be added in due time. I am a big fan of sound effects, and Arma 3 delivers them on a silver ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platter with the best poutine in the world. The purchasing factor on this game was sound effects. After about 5 minutes I found my way into an artillery. Then I fired it. Oh My God, I felt the rumble in my feet (subwoofer on my desk) and the bang in my ears. Arma 3 is the best game if you want the best sound effects in a shooter. Battlefield, Call of Duty, and World Of Tanks, don't even come close to this level of sound effect quality. Arma 3 is in a class of its own, and when I say that I mean that there is not even a teacher because all the other games have to take from Arma 3 in order to be in that class. For me? This is hands down the game of the decade. This game is awesome in sound, graphics, mechanics and realism. I would buy the ♥♥♥♥ out of it
