I am a 54 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2023 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

If you ignore the performance issues since this game it terribly optimized, it can be fun and you can spend a lot of time into it. Endgame is very grindy and all you do is farm, farm farm until you get bored of it and quit the game for months till a new patch with new content comes out, like most people do.

The community is partly terrible. Lots of kids with a specifically high ego. People kick you out of parties if your Equip doesn't match their desires even if you're capable of dealing more DPS than all of them together.
For difficult dungeons you have no choice but use LFG, if you don't, you will end up using the tool to find a group and this is where torture is even worse. I've got the feeling that a lot of people there have never played an MMO before and are not willing to learn or to listen as well if you tell them the mechanics of the dungeons or of their class skills etc. Some people play the game the way they want and ruin the experience of others due to that.

Now let's talk about Gameforge... wait.. do I even need to say anything about this any further? Should be clear and no surprise that gameforge is one of the worst publishers out there. The support is absolutely horrific, not only takes ages to reply but then all you get is either a copy&paste answer or an answer which isn't even related to your problems because the peps at gameforge apparently think it's not necessary to treat customers in an appropriate way. They've destroyed many games before, drifting them further into p2w and so..
I've been banned quite often already and everytime I had to deal with this sh**** support, I've lost my interest for the game more and more. I've been banned not because I did something bad or violated the conditions. Instead I got banned for "security reasons" and "trying to use a different IP", even though I have never changed my IP nor used any proxy, VPN's and so on before.
The last ban which pissed me off the most was due to the fact that my account had been hacked by someone. The Person bought a lot of stuff on my name and then send those Items from one of my characters to his own character. And guess what? I explained everything to the last detail, even with screenshots and what do I get as a reply from our lovely GF support?
(translated from german) "Hello, thanks for your request. We want to inform you, that your Account has now been permanently banned and will not be unbanned anymore. We thank you for your understanding that this decision can not be withdrawn. "
Yeah, good idea. We can't bring our incompetent asses to actually help customers in tough situations, so let's just take 14 days to reply and then ban them to tick the topic. What a great experience.

I'd rather recommend you to play TERA on "En Masse", you'll experience new dimensions over there instead of supporting this sh**** publisher any further.

This game is simply awesome.

Finished the game again everytime a new version released, then decided to play it with mods and woaaaaa.. it's even greater with mods, it's very addicting!

Pretty good game to play alongside.Just stay f2p and don't care about other people's progress. Spending money isn't worth it, it's just a short term speed boost. You can get anywhere if you're patient enough.

Rento Fortune

Bought this one because I was looking for a "Monopoly-like" game. First I was very sceptical, but it turned out to be a great game.
Even though I probably have the worst RNG on this planet, I still had a lot of fun times.
Recommend to play this with your friends and hang out in Teamspeak, just for the tortune when the RNG-god strikes again.

Positive aspects I found in my playthrough so far:

- Map decision: There is not only one board. You can choose from a ton of boards with a different land order.

- Decent trade system, you're free to make trades with other players anytime at your turn.

- Online Multiplayer lobbys

- Customization regarding dices and figures

- Additional game modifiers such as the bonus "troll" dice, rent in jail, pre bought lands and more

- You can start an auction instead of buying things directly --> Often turns out selling land to people for ridiculously high prices {or u get rekt..}

- Frequently coming updates.

+ Great developer, that cares a lot about the community and the game itself. Recently found a bug, that denied me to play some of the newer boards. I reported the bug and in the next 2 days, it got fixed. It's always great to see people working hard on their stuff to make others enjoying the content more


About any negative aspects:

I only found a bug that bothered me, but this one got fixed right away.
Beside that, the only thing that might be a bit annoying sometimes is, that you can bet $1 more in auctions than other people, which sometimes results in an endless bet. No matter how much you bet, some people in Online lobbys always bet $1 more than you. It should be like a fixed minimum % amount of the previous amount bet. That's all.


At the end, I can recommend you the game and it's definitely worth the 5 bucks.

A great game for its time.

I probably spent around 200 hours into the game back in 2006/07, until I lost my CD ><

(Note that I'm not a native English speaker, so you might find some grammar mistakes in my review.)

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil... the original black version of the game is still in my N64 console. Playing this remaster reminds me of my beautiful childhood memories.. When I could barely even finish the first level because I spent hours of playtime running around and finding the objectives; I can exactly remember being in the 2nd level for ages and not getting any further; ..Having my friends coming over and play TDM together with 4 people on 1 console.. I will never forget these goldy times ; )
But let's move on! Playing this on the N64 and on PC are two whole different dimensions. While playing something with great graphics like this on the N64 felt already great even though you were having like 15-20fps, playing this with completely refreshed textures on a stable framerate now feels freakin' badass!
And that's what I desired! I played the remaster on Hard, killed all bosses and found all required Items.

The following Pros & Cons are based on the remaster AND the game itself. This is just my own opinion about the game!


Pros:

++ Great looking graphics for a 1998 game
++ Much better port than the original PC port, which was clumsy af and had a really bad hit detection.
+ Looks beautiful with maxed out settings
+ Steam Achievements
+ Adjustable FOV (finally no more tunnel vision..)
+ You can now save your Progress at any time of the game!
+ a HUGE weapon arsenal with unique weapons such as the Cerebral Bore ;)
+ 6 different Levels, each with its own prehistory
+ Suitable for each player --> Difficulties from Easy up to Hardcore, where the game gets a real surviving challenge!
+ Intelligent AI for its time: Moving around corners, hiding behind obstracles & objectives, running panicly away when locked on by weapons such as the C.B. :'D . ( and hey! You can even make these dinosaurs fight against each other if done right ;)
+ You can now see markers on keys and activatables if you're near them, which results in missing less objectives when playing through the game (This can be deactivated in the options though)
+ Explorers get rewarded! You will often find secret passages or destroyable walls with spicy loot.
+ Multiplayer feels like the one on the N64, just with the original weapons and more levels
+ Brings back childhood memories
++ Hard working developers, who put their heart into this game ♥


Cons:

- The game can be pretty confusing if it's your first playthrough. Sometimes you have to run all the way back because you missed a key or a switch to activate.(Markers made this much easier now though)
(^Some levels can be like a labyrinth, with parts where you have no clue where to go next anymore, resulting in running through the whole level again and looking for missed things.)
- Sometimes, enemies can die in 1 shot, but can also take way more shots even if u hit the exact same spot
- Some enemies will respawn after you used a warp portal.
- You can run out of ammo really fast at the first levels(except you play on easy, where you have doubled magazines<<)
- The Multiplayer can get really laggy if you're playing with more than 3 people from different regions.

~ (The game is missing the old Multiplayer mod, which was way more competetive and skill reliant than the current one.)



Despite the cons, I think it's a great and worth game at all.
Pretty much a must-have for any fan of the series. Huge Levels with actual objectives and additional weapons is what the game makes a good addition to the first Turok.
20 bucks is quite a lot for such an old game, but I think this time the price is justified. (and hey, if this bugs you, you can still wait for upcoming sales :^)

I enjoyed my playthrough and I will do a second one on Hardcore soon.
