After 40ish hours of gametime all the ingame content has been unlocked which is quite far from what the original iteration of FTL would ask of you to unlock all its ships. This isn't because of less content like some reviews seem go for, but rather the removal of most of the randomness, which means that you go through the same amount of content, but choose between options rather than hoping to find them. The removal of requirements appearing at random is something Subset Games also has applied to FTL later on by allowing you to unlock all of the ships with victories rather than relying entirely on random events, something I approve of entirely. I would much rather set a goal and be challenged by its difficulty rather than grinding through a game hoping to find a series of random occurences.

Into the Breach is by no means a second FTL, it has its own, very polished, gameplay. You're always given all of the information during encounters making it very satisfying to find perfect solutions to the problems laid before you. It is all the same equally furstrating when you make a mistake knowing that you yourself are the only one to blame, but it's the good kind of furstration, the constructive kind that makes you learn from your mistakes, something this game is all about.

I very much enjoyed my time playing this game, the soundtrack, as it does for FTL, goes perfectly with the game and is a joy to listen to. I can only hope that Subset Games add content and continue to support Into the Breach for as long and faithfully as they did FTL.
