Played it; it was ok, frustrating gameplay-wise at times.
Played some older Sonic Games after years of not doing so.
Came Back to it; it was amazing, especially in terms of how it felt to control the characters.

Compared to other games in this franchise Shadow Generations is great, compared to other games in the genre it's alright.

Cutscenes and character dialouge is also fun and genreally decent, music is really good in both parts of the game and together these two get me to recommend this game.

Some things that stood out to me:

Sonic Gen:
Showing both Acts of City Escape to my friends that are unfamilar with the franchise was very entertaining and will be a fond memory,
Water levels need to stop existing (I know, I just need to git gud...). That's all I can say for Sonic Generations, which isn't the highlight of this release.
I enjoy most of the changed dialouge.

Shadow Generations:
Has specifically has a very memorable first and last stage and great Bossfights, as well as a significantly better HUB world than Sonic Generations.
I am glad that some of the more cheesy-edgy stuff was embraced aesthetically while still taking the character seriously.

Just get it, it's fun!

Could this be a good game?

I love these little guys. Fun to play with people around to give their input, and make little monstrosities <3

Fun little thing to just experiment with. I also like it to get inspiritation for fantasy and dnd maps from just playing around.

A lot of content, makes sense for such a long-running game, great story, lots of time sinks. From raids, to dungeons, to crafting, player housing, to the mini-game casino and much more, there is bound do be something for just about everyone who picks up this game.

Pretty short but enjoyable, would love to see what the dev would do with a longer game :)

I got the game to work thanks to the amazing modding community! (and community in general)

But, the base/Vanilla game being a remaster FOR PC and yet:
1. Commonly not working to the point that one of the most popular community guides is how to get the game to work properly
2. Cutscenes/Lighting/Textures/Animations being broken
3. Sound mixing being utter garbage with hardly any options

makes me not recommend this game by itself.

SA2 has a lot of old game yank, especially outside of the Sonic / Shadow levels, but there is some fun gameplay and great music nontheless. We also get some genuinely fun and iconic cutscenes.

If you do want to play the Steam version specifically, do it with QOL mods that also fix some of the mentioned problems.

PS.: WHY IS IT ALWAYS B BUTTON??

Wish there was more, but for the little it cost it's alright. I hope there will be a more detailed artbook or the like with some of the designer's insights in the future instead of just plain art. Also not a fan of how, instead of properly showing a bunch of concept art, it's used as bareley visible backgrounds.
