The title says it all. This is a game, about digging a hole. What did you expect?

Awaken, flee, subvert, dominate, get dominated, rise again. You are not alone. You are there to help. You are there to control. You are.... You.

So, I'm not going to say this is my favorite Civ game, that still probably goes to Civ V, but with all titles this one tries new things.

The map generation is a bit rough around the edges, and I'm not sure how I feel about eras yet, and I've not yet figured out how to have a second city (at least one that operates like your capital does and takes turns to build rather than just purchase with gold), but I don't think it's a bad game. It feels like there's less units, maps are tighter (or maybe the same as 6, but I liked the scope of 5), religions are... tedious.

That's complaints though, the good side: it feels like a civ game, diplomacy is a bit more interesting, naval vessels no longer have a melee/ranged distinction (I think?), cities still sprawl across the map. Again though, still feels like a civ game, and I look forward to seeing where they go from here, especially after the polish some of it's rougher edges.

A 4X game built on the same engine as Warhammer 40K Gladius, with added functions for inter-faction diplomacy. An enjoyable experience, even if the AI doesn't always do things that make sense. For example, had a 4 way alliance for the majority of the game. The moment we kill the last non-allied faction, the alliance breaks up. Why? No idea. Game refused to let a greater than 2-person alliance win.

I enjoyed the game, though.

It's a cute city builder. There are a few minor complaints I have, but that's probably just more me just overbuilding things. Some of the events get kind of repetitive, but still, it's a good game.

If you liked My Time at Portia, or if you were meh on it but thought it'd be better with some quality of life improvements, you should play this.

I have spent a literal month worth of time playing this and own all the DLC. In countless numbers of games, I have not yet actually finished a single one.

Take that as you will.

According to my friend on the internet, who really totally exists and is not a figment of my imagination, this is the best game of 2019 because it has properly colored copper ore.

This is a game that after a full 24 hours of play, I still suck at. But I keep coming back to it, starting over numerous times in order to apply what I've learned to a new world, getting a tad bit further (or atleast learning what not to do) each time I try again.

Play, lead your porcos to dominance, or just lose your entire army in the jungle, or to a forest witch, or just to dehydration in the desert. Realistically, you'll die. A lot.

"Because Anime is trash!" -- Gig guk

I'd recommend this for those that wish to see more character development for Kaori, and I enjoyed the story and what it contributed to the ACE Academy storyline in regards to her. $9.99 seems like it might be a bit high for what amounted to just a few hours of play time, though the price wouldn't stop me from picking up any future "After Stories" they do in the future--I'm a sucker for a good story.
