Went back to this years after I bought it.... worst Total War experience....

I started with the Hannibal at the Gates campaign as Syracuse on Legendary. By turn 50 I had wiped out Carthage and Libya from the map and there wasn't really anything more to do than attack Rome. Oh by the way, my army was a general and 19 militia hoplites.....

Then I tried the Augustus campaign, started as Pompey since it was considered the hardest start. Again on Legendary. This time i was surprised. I disbanded my army and navy and made an army of 1x general and 19x legionnaires (cos in Rome2/Attila you just spam troops and it works somehow) and straight up took southern italy. As I approached Rome, Octavians agents (3 of them) surrounded my army and kept it there for 10 turns. 10 turns my army could not move, and the enemy agent success rate was 100% every time. I gave up after that....

The campaign is still broken and the engine is horrible to begin with. Plus random framerate drops cos why not.
