One of, if not, the best RPG experience I have had the pleasure of playing. It is hardcore, no hand holding, immersive, and full of life to the extreme. Though the lore is not explained through any story, you will learn it and you will become invested! Your choices in playthroughs have consequences, the people you ally with and make enemies with, will change the world. And, making risky choices have high reward if you can pull through on surviving.

Base building is fun, you can have people do stuff in your base while others go out to fight. The design for bases is literally so freeform, the only restriction is you can't build too close to NPC settlements. And, your options for making money are whatever the game allows. Crops, armor, weapons, bounties, and even selling others to factions can make you money.

Making squads is good, and easy to swap out and customize. Literally create, drag, and drop. Make base squads, combat squads, or divisions of your overpowered legions to micromanage or macromanage to your pleasure!

Kenshi is 100% worth your money if you like a mixture between RTS and RPG gameplay. Even if you want to get into into that stuff, this one will give you the chest hairs you need!

a good game for people who like to think about how to win, and also enjoy seeing big numbers pop up. there's also a surprising amount of intricacy in the way hands can be played and jokers can be positioned, so much that the positioning of a card in a hand or a joker in your inventory can make or break a build. its also not punishing for time, you can exit a run and pick it right back up where you left, or even just leave the game run temporarily for shorter breaks.

At the current moment, I am putting this review at not recommended. Should the proper changes be implemented, I will give a better review.

I have almost 940 hours in the base game as I'm writing this. Before this DLC was released, I was about 13 wins away from achieving gold Eclipse 8 on every character. RoR2 was my "calm down after a long day" type of game, and it itched my brain in ways almost every other roguelike, let alone every other game, did. However, the amount of bugs and poor balancing from what seems like a rushed patch job have soured my thoughts on playing the game as much as I used to.

For example, the amount of times both enemies and MYSELF have either spawned under the stage or clipped underneath is mind boggling. Enemies just seem to turn into ghosts, capable of walking into the terrain and still attacking me. Loader, a character I absolutely love playing, has become completely broken with her grapple acceleration tied to the player's FPS. People like me, who average near 150-200 FPS, now have an instant teleporting grapple that can also literally travel across ANY STAGE in mere seconds. And people who may not have computers stable enough to run that kind of FPS now can barely accelerate with Loader. Also worth mentioning, the atrocious cooldowns on both Seeker and Chef, especially Chef's global M2 cooldown that doesn't allow you to use skills for a brief but precious amount of time after (reminds one of the global cooldown on REX's alt R skill...). I haven't touched False Son as a character yet, but I've heard some...things. Hell, I've encountered invincible Scavengers (one with Royal Capacitor, which isn't the problem but is beyond scary lmao), and have yet to face Mithrix when he decides to be invincible and break animations.

The DLC's content itself. It's fine! The small item pool added is honestly a wonderful thing, considering how SOTV added so many powerful items. The alternate stages on loop are super nice, and a great addition for people who loop more often than I do. In terms of power scaling, SOTS did it right and I commend the devs for not ruining item balance. This DLC's biggest problem is the sheer number of game breaking bugs. Considering the team has confirmed work on a patch is in progress over Twitter, my review will most likely change if that patch addresses the shortcomings. Until then, don't buy this DLC. Downpatch your base game to avoid any other problems. I will not stop playing Risk of Rain, but the way this release was handled has disappointed me.

This game is absolutely amazing. I did receive this game as a gift, but it's been an amazing gift. The base game has a HUGE amount of content, and the Survivors of The Void DLC is worth just as much as the game despite being less in price. So, take this review as don't feel pressured to buy the DLC, you'll have hundreds of hours worth of fun with just the base game, but the DLC is AMAZINGLY worth it for the content it gives. This game ALSO allows you to play DLC content (excluding survivors) as long as one person in your lobby (or just host, I'm sorry but I forget specifically) has the DLC, which is amazing. The modding scene is also amazing, with loads of content to try if you want even more. And, of course, the soundtrack is beautifully composed, with tracks that will make you hype, happy, or cry from how amazing and beautiful they are.

Honestly, the only downsides I can think of is how many items, mechanics, and things to commit to memory there are, and it can feel overwhelming to many (myself included at first). Some challenges to unlock items are also a bit hard to do. Both downsides, however, are a VERY small fraction of it all, but need to be said for the sake of an unbiased review.

I only have 255 hours at the time of this review, but I know this'll be a game I play for thousands. I wholeheartedly recommend this game. If you played RoR1 (which I didn't, sadly), or are a fan of roguelikes in general, I think you'll love this game.

a nice little game with just enough going on to keep interest, but still idle enough to just be chill and fun to watch the cars drive.

this is the kind of game where you can just vibe and make some funny names and combinations of genres. sometimes you can get kinda unlucky with your initial game topics, but once you have a few good ones, it's smooth sailing.

along with a pretty easy to understand UI and gameplay, this is worth a buy for a chill tycoon game. and the good feeling you get when you get four 10/10 reviews for a game you make never gets old.

funny story, good physics, and a great game to cause a bit of destruction in. especially great after a bad day and a little bit of property damage is needed to ease your mood.

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."
