I would only recommend this game on the condition that you are playing it with friends. This game is just not built well for single player, most of the battles you get into with any big enemies consist of you mag dumping into their weak spots, then they shoot at you so you get out of their way, and then you mag dump into their weak spots, and so on for a good half hour or so until they finally die. I feel like that is my biggest complaint is just how long everything takes in this game (at least playing it alone), travel, battles, reloading, inventory management, everything just feels sluggish. Don't get me wrong, I love hardcore, slower paced shooters but the difference is in those games there is a constant tension that fills in the gaps with a baseline excitement. This game doesn't really have any of that, it just feels monotonous in big battles that should be exciting. There isn't much feeling of sudden danger that other games carry since your character generally gets a pretty big warning for whenever they will have to fight an enemy.

There is also the issue of content, like the map is big don't get me wrong, but everything just feels so empty. There are a lot of houses and stuff which are just boarded up in weird ways to stop you from going in, or the doors are just straight up not interactable objects. A lot of times there are places you can go which you think should be able to lead you to more loot or something but you just get randomly stopped (like there are these bunkers you see on the surface sometimes that are just solid blocks you can't enter, although there are other bunkers that you can enter). Overall this just kills your desire to explore because 95% of the time it is for absolutely nothing. There are also way to few enemy types, like there are (I believe) 6 enemy types and that's it. And 2 of those are basically just cannon fodder so you are left with 4 actually interesting enemies for the entire game. It gets boring fast.

Also movement in this game straight up sucks, like you get stuck on random things, move super slowly, can barely run at all, you bounce off of things weirdly, it just does not feel good in any way. The gunplay doesn't feel particularly great but it is not the worst I have had to deal with. The spread on some of the guns is dialed up way too high though, like a G3 should not be barely shooting minute of man groups at 50 yards.

I know that basically everything I have said so far is negative, but there is definitely a great, very fun game underneath everything, and I think if you played with friends it would be a lot better, but as it is right now as a single player experience there are definitely major issues with the game. I did enjoy playing it for a fair bit of the time that I did, but I've kind of just gotten tired of dealing with all the downsides. There are a lot of great concepts behind the game, fighting the robots and how they react to being shot in different places with sparks or being blinded or losing their weapon is all really cool to have in a game and better done than just about any other game I have played. But whether that is enough to make up for the other glaring problems with the game is a personal preference. Again, I feel like this game would be a lot more fun to play with friends since you could come up with strategies to flank enemies or set up traps for them, but in single player this is really difficult to do since most enemies will either stay stationary the whole time or beeline for you with x-ray vision as soon as you shot one bullet at them. Maybe there will be some updates and my opinion will change, I honestly hope so. I really wanted to like this game, the core gameplay of shooting robots has some great aspects to it that I love, but there are just too many problems for me to enjoy the game as a whole. It breaks my heart, but I just can't bring myself to recommend it.

Deep Rock Galactic is one of if not the single best coop, team based shooter I have ever played, with so many things to love about the game.
Each of the classes feels unique and viable, with different weapons, voice lines and utility added to the team that the classes don't. Engineers can build platforms for scouts to grapple up to get high up minerals, gunners can put up ziplines for traversal and protection and shields, and drillers can make convenient passages through the caves and clear out areas to fight in. Sticking together as a team feels natural in this game and the great community combined with the smart game design really makes playing as a team a blast.
There are a lot of different mission types and biomes, which combined with the extremely good random generation of the caves makes for a new experience every mission. It is also nice that the entire map is destructible, so you can mine out your own paths and areas. There are a lot of different enemy types you can encounter while on a mission, allowing a combat situation to change significantly depending on what enemies spawn, which always keeps you on your toes. There are also all sorts of random events and encounters you can have on a mission which can give you rewards from money to resources to cosmetics and weapon upgrades, which brings me into my next point.
The customization in this game is fantastic. There are all sorts of weapon and utility upgrade choices you can make to upgrade your dwarfs kit. While there are not too many different weapons, weapon overclocks more than make up for this as they can basically transform one weapon into a totally different one (such as changing a regular grenade launcher to one that shoots nukes, or one that shoots ultra-fast single target projectiles, or one that lets you rocket jump and so on). Character customization is also great, allowing you to change your dwarf's outfit, beard (including mustache and side burns), head ware, pickaxe, etc.
All in all, DRG is a great game that I cannot recommend enough. Rock and stone!

The mechanics of this game are pretty unique and the game play is simultaneously relaxing and stressful. Very fun to play although it is very much in production right now. Honestly my only complaint is that the mouse control is a little annoying, since it is fixed to the center of the screen and basically controls your character rotating so it is acceleration based, which makes aiming in a single spot quite difficult.

I have gotten a great many hours of enjoyment out of this game, specifically the coop modes I really like. There isn't really any other game like this that has decently realistic weapon damage, weapon mechanics and movement (not to mention excellent sound design) while still being able to keep the pace up to a good level. I will admit that the optimization is not the best I have ever seen, however it is a lot better than it has been in the past and at this point runs pretty well for me (similar to Rainbow Six: Siege for me in terms of frames).
It can be a bit difficult to start out so I recommend playing PvE before trying out PvP due to the pace and most important mechanics being different from a lot of other shooters. Specifically positioning is something that a lot of new players mess up, causing them to repeatedly die very quickly and thus get a negative view of the game. The community is generally friendly and will help you if you ask for it.
Overall a great game with truly unique mechanics and feelings, one unlike any other shooter and a demonstration of how realism can enhance gaming rather than take away from it.

I must say that this is probably on of my favorite shooters. This game provides very realistic combat, no HUD, no bullet count, no minimap, if someone is nearby then you will hear them loud and clear but if they are far away you will hear them as if through a radio, there are the normal aspects of many realistic games such as battlefield, however suprisingly there is no bullet drop, which I hope will be added. All in all this is a very fun and realistic game, which I would recomend to anyone who enjoys the FPS genre. Also the community is not super toxic, which is nice.

WARNING: For any players new to this game, you may spend your first hour or so getting absolutely destroyed before you recover from the learning curve, my recommendation is not to be discouraged by this and just keep at the game, and find a class and customization that suits you.

Although this game may seem fun, it is most definately not, Valve does not give a crap about what happens in this game, so thus it is amazingly poorly designed, has awful server lag, and is full of smurfs and hackers. What does Valve do about this? nothing. They only use this game to make money, not caring about what state it is in, all they do is make more skins for guns, when they could be fixing actual issues in this game. It had such great potential, but Valve is focused on the League of Legends ripoff DOTA2.

Ok, so there are two sides to subnautica, the first is the fun side, in which you get to explore vast oceans, have fun swimming amung a giant serpant that can kill you with one strike, and also being scared to hell is part of this game. However, the other side of subnautica is when you're giant submarine which you spent hours making, and you're meck suit which you also spent hours on, randomly disapears after you started falling through the ground in you're meck suit, which would surely destroy it soon, so you reload you're game and BOOOM, you're giant submarine and OP meck suit which was inside of it both disapear out of existance and you can't get them back. And that really sucks.

There are a lot of glitches and unbalances in this game, and when you log in as a steam account user, you are immediately in an under served class with their own separate glitches and inabilities, if you do get this game just make a robocraft account. Other than this it is kinda fun, but the glitches make the game often very annoying.
