Extremely powerful software with just as extremely severe limitations, none of which make any sense. Suffers from extreme translation problems.

There are dozens or hundreds of sliders controlling everything from finger thickness to the specific gravity of individual strands of hair, but no slider for butt size. Every character has a mandatory flat ass. And I mean FLAT flat, not just "not VRchat BBL levels of large", I mean Hank Hill amounts of planar fidelity. No slider for lower leg size, so everyone has drumstick legs. Sliders are labeled incorrectly and mysteriously, so the "Waist" slider actually only controls the horizontal width of the HIPS and upper thighs. Controlling the actual waist size of a model is in effect impossible unless you use clothing items and do a bunch of fiddly stuff with skin masks. Breasts are fully rigged with jigglebones AND individual settings for how MUCH you want them to jiggle, how much they face towards or away from each other, and a bunch of sliders labeled things like "chest prominence" which do unclear things but which have nothing to do with "prominence" of the chest or otherwise, but the breasts themselves cannot be moved up or down the torso, and also look extremely weirdly-shaped if you make them above a C cup. Baffling. It is fully impossible to make any character model larger than a size 00, no fat people allowed. Hell, no non-emaciated people allowed either. With the trends in VRchat models right now, this is making this software more and more useless for making actually marketable avatars for the current VR landscape. It is impossible to make anyone's face look like anything but generic anime face without pushing the software to the point that polygons start to look deformed. And this goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: of course there are zero hairstyles for Black characters.

Why would they do that? Why hasn't it been fixed? No one knows, because the devs absolutely do NOT communicate with the userbase in any capacity. They don't acknowledge or answer questions, they do not incorporate actual use cases into updates, and they seem to be purposefully avoiding the users entirely. This most recent update added cat tails. And rabbit tails, and fox tails. Nothing else. I mean, thanks I guess, but when you still can't change the size of someone's calf muscles, or their stomach, or their ASS, WHAT IS THE POINT?

"But it's free software," I hear you reply. "How much can you expect from them really?" It's a good point, but the software is made by Pixiv, who owns the Booth marketplace, which does a massive amount of business directly for and about VRoid by selling accessories and models FOR VRoid. This software isn't free so much as it is a gateway into the Booth marketplace, including the use of Booth marketplace buttons within the app to go to the website to buy VRoid items. These are not struggling indie devs, these are devs working for and with a large corporation that is making unbelievable amounts of money selling the work of actual creators. So you would expect them to actually be in some sort of discussion with said creators in order to maximize the profitability of the enterprise, if nothing else. "Maybe they don't care about the American market," I hear you say. You're telling me the Japanese market doesn't have any demand for butts? Absolute nonsense.

This app was released in 2020 and they still don't support HATS.

Early Access Review
This is the game of the year but the mod management is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It uses some extremely sketchy platform called Overwolf Thunderstore which smells like a Bitcoin miner, is crammed with ads, has garbage UI and if that wasn't enough, they're also vocally supporting the IDF. I have no idea why it doesn't just have a Workshop or even a Nexus directory like every other game on earth. The ModSync mod fixes this but only for mods that have themselves implemented support for ModSync.

Anyway, Overwolf is complete bloatware garbage and shouldn't be associated with this game, which is excellent. Developer, please turn on the Workshop for Lethal Company.

edit: I've looked into it and all indications are that Overwolf/Thunderstore are actively malware. There's no other mod manager for Lethal Company, it's either babykilling malware or install every mod individually. Extremely bad state of affairs for Lethal Company modding, hopefully it gets changed soon.

They've done it. The absolute madmen. These beautiful geniuses have created a working Space Station 13 remake as a playable alpha, breaking a decade-long curse that has claimed the lives of countless volunteer developers over the years. I am so grateful.
