I have completed the game, so I believe I can speak to the quality of it.

This game is a blatant rip-off in Subnautica in every way, yet it fails to be half as enjoyable as it. It just straight up copies the ancient-aliens-shooting-down-every-spaceship-that-comes-near-the-planet story, copies the gameplay loop of gather resources until your oxygen runs out > upgrade oxygen tank > explore further, and copies the resources and tools from its objectively better predecessor. It astonishes me this game has overwhelmingly positive reviews, since this game innovates on or improves nothing in the gaming space.

I don't want to make it seem like I hated the game, since I played over 35 hours of it, but just because something has an addicting gameplay loop doesn't mean it's a good game. I would compare this to something like a mobile game where the game is hard to put down, yet makes the player feel empty inside after playing it.

Helldivers 2 is one of the best games to come out this year, if not the best. It takes a relatively simple premise (that being "what if Starship Troopers and Terminator were turned into a video game?") and turns the action up to a 10. Not only that, but this game is a smack in the face to all of the greedy devs that focus more on making a profitable game than a good one. The monetization is minimal at best, and devs keep their finger on the pulse of the community. All in all, this game is pure, simple fun with your friends (or randoms, if that suits you).

No, this game still isn't polished enough to justify its price tag. It's still VERY buggy, doesn't have great performance, and is missing feature parity with KSP 1.

The game runs fine for me, the graphics are amazing and I'm able to run the game at 4k ~60fps with a 3080. A couple crashes 11hrs in, but I can put up with that.

Although I haven't played too much of the game, the appeal is certainly there. The gameplay loop is not only addictive, but the idea is an original concept, which is rare nowadays. The voiceovers are witty and funny, the combat is engaging, and the community is friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for?

Look, the game is alright at this stage, but it's too unpolished and buggy for me to recommend it. I was thinking buying a beta would get me a game that is kind of similar to its final release, but it's not that. I would say this is more of an alpha than a beta. While the graphics certainly have improved quite a bit, it's just masking the numerous gameplay glitches/bugs that make it difficult to get immersed. I recommend buying this game after its full release after all of the bugs are ironed out.

-Gameplay glitches
-Bugs (Textures not loading correctly, networking bugs)
-Lack of items (Some loadout categories just have no weapons/items)

Overall good game. Puts the powers of the Source engine at your fingertips, allowing every game mode imaginable.
