There's no matchmaking in game, so unless you know someone who wants to play it at the same time, you'll never be able to play it.

I really wanted to like this one, but it's plagued with the issues of being a hastily rushed port of a console game to pc, amidst that of an underwhelming story and large swaths of emptyness due to the lack of enemies in the hub part of town, which would have at least given something to do between mission areas.

it's a 4/10 from me.

Used to spend hours grinding away at this game just to earn enough currency to unlock new characters (pilot/tanker...) only for devs to give 1 of each class for each faction for free after i'd bought them already T_T
Oh well, at least everyone's on a level playing field for classes now.

Then came the problems with alts wasting assault teams, meaning that in war matches, GE could only field basic infantry because the alts were spawning the specialised classes (paratroopers and fighter planes) and sending them to the furthest corners of the map to prevent them from being used (usually southwest France).

The newest issue is the inability to play the game if you have an Nvidea graphic card of the 1600/2000 series (my laptop uses an RTX 2600) for whatever reason, a driver update this summer has rendered this game (and only this game) unplayable. So if you have an nvidea graphics card, double check to see if it works, you can start the game and play the generals RTS side, but the actual FPS gameplay will crash as soon as you load into a match.

the developers seem pretty sus...

Devs have explicitly stated they only want positive reviews and don't care about player satisfaction.

They want the wars that currently last about a week or two, to last 6 months, but in order to achieve that you'd need to be unable to take towns through action, so the game devolves into waiting until one side gets bored and quits so no one is left to supply fronts with gear.

It's like an open world version of Death Stranding, but with more features. The NPC's you meet along the way are hyper-realistic, never before has a game achieved such high levels of social interaction modelling.

Finally I can walk off into the sunset whilst carrying the equivalent of the World Trade Center on my back.

Super hecking cute, you'll feel nostalgia for the games of old like Banjo Kazzooie and Croc.

Came for the platforming, stayed for the kickass cuteness.

You can slingshot about floating islands and build your own bespoke airship, what more do you want?

After spending time and a small amount of cash on a few premium ships, I feel somewhat underwhelmed with this game, not because it's bad, It's arguably the greatest ship-based team game out there at the moment, but because of 1 failing in particular:

- A complete lack of ADVERTISING.

shocking I know, however it really lets the game down as there's hardly any playerbase at all. You'll be lucky to find 300 people online at a time...300! Matches should be 16v16, but the game struggles to find players to match with as there's none ingame, so you're stuck with 3v3.


So why the lack of population?
In short, no-one knows it exists! Everyone has heard of World of Warships [because they advertise] and yet this game makes that look like some sort of highschool design project.

How come the devs don't advertise?
The game is created by a team of Chinese Game Developers, and they have 2 servers for this game: 1 in China which is only accesible to Chinese citizens because of Chinese law, and the North American one you can access here on steam. The Chinese server has roughly 1 million individual gamers, with about 100000 logged in at any 1 time, so the devs feel that the game doesn't need any advertising, as they are already raking in the cash from their Chinese server.

Is there any chance of advertising in the future/something to increase the playerbase?
No. The devs have made it clear that they won't do anything new to market the game, and support dried up about 6 months ago leaving only server maintenance.

TL:DR
11/10 for gameplay
-1/10 for server population
Even War Thunders ♥♥♥♥♥♥ naval row boats would be better than this game, as you wouldn't have to wait 5 years for a match bigger than 3v3
