You don't even have to be into the Batman universe to understand and appreciate this game, the story is smoothly presented and the action is well-dosed, and oh trust me, when it's time to kick some ass Batman will be there. Because he's Batman, obviously.

10/10 game for me, seriously

True diamond in the rough, you might actually not enjoy it if you didn't play it in your childhood, but if you can pick it up for a bargain price you should do so, it starts out slow but gets very fun soon.

A stunning display of how RPGs should be made, while being in no way boring or unnecessarily difficult, keeping the player always engaged and glued to the screen thanks to the superb voice acting and stellar art direction. Unfortunately the rest in the series are a blatant disappointment.

I seriously have no words for how good this game is, truly a masterpiece.
But honestly, you should play the first one too so you keep in touch with the characters and the story.
