This game is an extremely focused, dense, and intertwining experience and I need more things like it in general.
The puzzles in the game can be really difficult and downright frustrating to figure out but they're absolutely not outside the scope of what one person can figure out which is a breath of fresh air when so many games have puzzles that seem to require an entire community of hundreds to piece together from minute details. You're given the information to complete every puzzle and it's made clear what information is important for completing those puzzles. Another thing that's great about the puzzles is the sheer variety. Some are basically just straight up math equations while other are much more abstract in how they convey information to you. Some puzzles make it pretty clear that the solution to them is in the same room while others require information that's found scattered across the map but it's always pretty obvious when you do and don't already have the required info.

The presentation for the game is also absolutely phenomenal. The surprisingly wide array of settings and visuals echos the variety of the puzzles and every one will catch you off guard when you first come into contact with it. The disjointed and abstract nature of the presentation also pairs really well not only with the narrative but also how the narrative is told. Bits and pieces of an incomplete story are strewn about everything is about something else yet it all somehow embodies the same central ideas and themes of seeking closure and meaning in the face of uncertainty.

The game is very very obviously not for everyone and if you don't think that you'd like it then yeah you probably wouldn't, but if you've got a pretentious bone in your body then I implore you to at least give it a shot. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes left a very strong impression on me that won't go away anytime soon.

Ars longa, vita brevis, so go play Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.
