Would be even more fun with co op but super worth $10

DISCLAIMER: This is my first from software game and I am used to playing story driven fantasy games. I do not play on max difficulty for those titles as I prefer the narrative and immersion to pure high health/attack boss fights.

Elden Ring appears to be for an extremely niche audience who prefers enemies with extremely high attack and health to progressive story and fantasy. If you enjoy that style of game design, you found your fit and will love this game. However, if you prefer games like skyrim and assassin's creed then I would probably stay away from this title. So far the story is disappointingly irrelevant to advancing (I'm assuming there is a story somewhere as they gave Martin a writer's credit but I haven't seen it.) If you expect a quest log with way points that advance the narrative to immerse in a new world, you will likely also be disappointed. Also the game doesn't even pause.
