Team Fortress 2 had many ups and downs throughout its life, but the Jungle Inferno Update (Review posted 11/23/17) brought new life into this game. For the past couple of years, the community bashed Valve for their updates. Regardless, the community wanted more, and Valve still continued updating the game since 2007 onwards. It has been ten years, and it's amazing how the game persisted to remain on the top 10 most played games according to SteamCharts.

To give some background, I have around 1,500 hours, and I've started playing in 2012.

Released in 2007, Team Fortress 2 is a class-based shooter with nine classes, and numerous gamemodes to play on. Since release, many new gamemodes and maps came out such as Medieval Mode and Mann Vs. Machine. The game is free, but if you want to be a part of the Team Fortess 2 cosmetic economy, you need to purchase an Item from the Mann Co. Store (If I were you, I'd purchase a Mann Co. Key). The vanilla Valve servers provide fun with the usual frendlies, tryhards, trolls, and team players, but don't let that discourage you. It's a fun game, and those people can make the game fun. If you'd like to try something new, open up the community maps panel and select a server nearby. They range from traditional gamemodes to surfing, Freak Fortress, and trade servers each with their custom maps.

I'm aware that I did not cover the gameplay for each class, but I encourage you to figure it out yourself as the playstyle and metas can change for each update. If you're a new player coming from a newer class-based shooter *Cough, cough*, give the game a try; most classes, or heroes, take inspiration for the nine TF2 classes. The game is free, so just try it once.
