i have mixed feelings about this one, i would personally lean towards 'not recommended'

the gameplay is pretty boring - just driving a flying car from point a to point b. there is the occasional "choice" you have to make, but from what i can tell your choices don't really have any impact on the story. so it's kind of a walking simulator game, but instead of walking you drive. the driving mechanics are pretty bad too, and it doesn't help that i just don't like driving games. i guess if the point is to show how boring working in nivalis as a delivery driver is, then they nailed it?

the writing was okay. there were some parts that were exciting or emotional, but those were rare. the majority of the story was pretty slow and uninteresting. none of the characters were particularly interesting or likable either in my opinion. sometimes the dialogue between characters will sound like what a robot might think human conversation sounds like... that is to say the dialogue can sometimes sound "off".

the ambiance of the game was very impressive. the sprawling city was by far the most impressive part, but unfortunately it is not enough to carry the game on its own. i think this game would have been better off as a visual novel.

TL;DR okay game with okay writing, boring gameplay, cool ambiance. it doesn't really get much better through the runtime so if you don't like it within 2 hours then there's nothing much waiting for you for the rest of the 10 hour runtime

my favorite soulslike i've ever played. very linear but it's a well-designed experience and a solid ride from start to end

HARD CORE TO THE MEGA!!!!

bounced off of it the first time, but loved it after giving it a second try. it's a LOT of text, but I like the way the skill system and choices really make you think at times about how you want to respond (whether it be because of what kind of cop you choose to be, or because you don't want to make the situation worse)

the hardest part was the extremely dense world building history and political discussions. i'm sure there's an audience for those fine details but I still had a good time just skimming over the more dense portions

maybe this game is innovative for when it was released? it plays like a puzzle game with some semblance of story, but the story doesn't actually feel particularly engaging or substantial. throws around a lot of references to the devil / satanic imagery but is it just for shock value or something? not a hard no but not interesting enough to keep me playing

cool concept but it's basically just a tech demo

easily in my top 3 roguelites of all time. if you like the genre you owe it to yourself to give this game a shot. there's a bit of a learning curve and a slow start but it just gets better and better. the only thing holding it back is that the dialogue can feel pretty unnatural at times, but otherwise the game is just so much fun

seems like it will be fun... but crashed immediately after going into the armory lmao. missing content from helldivers 1
edit: has a lot of potential, but really needs a couple of patches. there are some really annoying QoL things (like scrolling through strategem shop faster mission end screen) that need work. the game is REALLY fun but really needs those patches

also $40 with mtx at launch. it uses classic scummy psychological tactics where things are priced in a way where costs are obfuscated (e.g. 90 credits = 1 dollar) and buying higher tier bundles offers you 'more'.

assuming it doesn't turn into a babylon's fall, i'd say wait for a couple patches and maybe a sale to pick this one up. absurd that this is the state games are launching in nowadays

EDIT 2: the game has a bright future, strong playerbase, and the devs are working hard, but my review still stays negative for the scummy mtx psych tactics.

tons of fun with a lot of potential. i would love to see a race mode where you can hit other players' balls and a custom map creator/workshop
