The parts of this game that remind me of SMT or other Persona games were *fine*. They did their job, and even iterated in ways that I found enjoyable--the baton pass, for example, speeds up grinding significantly--but the part that chewed through 100+ hours of my life was the depth and breadth of characters. Every major character--there's a lot by the way--feels grounded in their own personality, thoughts and wants. What was once a gruff, untrusting guy is now sharing a heart to heart with you about his own problems, problems that you are entangled in as a character and invested in as a player.

Once you get seamless co-op mod, this game becomes amazing. No more worrying about: invasions, which room you can enter together, which boss makes your friend(s) teleport away. No more coordinating summon signs.
Looks beautiful and has good gameplay.

Having to sit through the spoonfed, clumsy morals of this game was painful at best. If you enjoy feeling morally superior to people with non traditional relationships you'll like it, i guess. My biggest regret is it took 3 hours to beat, so I cant get a refund.
