This game is quite possibly my favorite video game of all time.
In a non-spoilery nutshell: you play as a member of a four-eyed alien race whose space exploration program has almost literally just taken off the ground. You fly around a tiny but incredibly creative and interesting solar system where each of the planets are unique and memorable. The "goal" of the game is finding clues scattered across this solar system about a different race of ancient aliens who used to live in your solar system a long time ago but mysteriously vanished. There are no weapons in this game, the only tools that you need are given to you at the very start and the only thing you need to progress is the knowledge that you gain from exploring every nook and cranny.
There are so many moments in this game that I wish I could go back and experience for the first time, and I want to take this opportunity to stress that you should go into this 100% blind if you can. Don't look up anything no matter how tempting it might get. You'll figure it out!. And if great gameplay and story wasn't already enough, the music is absolutely fantastic. There's a wonderful way that music is integrated into the gameplay that no other game I've played has pulled off so well. If I keep going on about how much I liked this game I'll probably accidentally spoil something that would be better for you to discover by yourself so I'll stop now.
This game is real good, yo. I finished it over a year ago and I still think about it all the time.
