Perhaps it’s the nostalgic feel and memories that I hold towards this game, but it is absolutely all around fun. There was a time when video games where 2d linear screen left to right, up and down, and RPG’s began to lack that certain “je ne ce quoi” about the title and play, and above all the storyline. And then, at that time Squaresoft, released its newest in the Final fantasy series Number VII, a full 3d world with 3d battle screen, magic and materia, summons and visually changeable weapons, and a cast of the most Motley of crews.

Barret; Leader of environmental faction AVALANCHE, Tifa, the humble bar owner trained in martial arts, RedXIII an endangered species last of his kind, among many other great characters.

And then, there is he hero, Cloud Strife, a wannabe SOLDIER, a failure in his cause with a hidden past, the life he lives a gift at the cost of others, his heart pained by his mistakes and secrets held deep all to be revealed in this wonderful tale.

Join Cloud and his friends on a quest to save the planet from the evil energy company Shinra who’s ultimate goal is to consume the planets life force for profit and gain. A company with a hidden agenda, a company that can no longer control its greatest of weapons, the ultimate SOLDIER, Sephiroth.

A true game changer of the old school PS1 days of Bloody Roar and Pandemonium, I give this game 10 Gold Chocobos out of 10.
