(36hrs) Really fun so long as you don't mind the toxic player base. I don't really think there's anything to be mad about in this game but I also recognize I'm pretty tilt-proof, which is why I probably enjoy it too much. Just play to have fun, folks!

(560 hrs) Coming back to this review because I initially wrote it while I was ignorant to just how deep this game goes. Learning that has also allowed me to gleam what I think is the primary source of people's rage in dbd: failure to adapt. This is a game with an incredibly high skill ceiling, and many people simply hit a wall at some point and blame it on either toxic players or bad game design. The truth is that as long as you stay flexible and passionate about playing your respective role: you will prosper. For that reason I can't say I would recommend this game for a casual playing experience (unless you don't mind losing most of your matches). However I would 100% recommend it to anyone willing and wanting to devote themselves to a truly great asymmetrical-horror multiplayer experience.

The Shieldbreaker is a beast- nuff said. Super fun and rewarding playstyle that's complimented by a strong kit. Her nightmares can be trying, but as other people said: as long as you prep before hand and pep talk her they're very manageable (and also valuable, since you get a unique trinket for her in each one). Definitely recommend this character if you're into advanced/mobile playstyles like the graverobber.

Yet another gem that fell victim to the hype train: while this game certainly takes a different kind of mindset to enjoy, it's not the slog that everyone makes it out to be. Has some very riveting action sequences which aren't too punishing for inexperienced gamers, but for those who do have experience: playing on hard is a must if you want the most out of this game, especially for the later stages.

I'm very tough on anything anime-esque or steeped in Japanese influence because of it's abundance in western culture right now, but with that being said I (somewhat guiltily, granted) thoroughly enjoyed this game.
Persona 4 has a special kind of charm to it that makes it unique among anime and jrpgs I've been exposed to. With it's unique artstyle, cheery setting contrasted with dark themes, and compelling characters: it makes for an experience that feels much more genuine than the average story-driven game. Just the thought of getting the chance to play this used to get me hyped up, and that excitement was only multiplied upon booting up the game to it's stellar intro. Sadly, the title still has it's "moments" (y'know, those kinds of awkward bits that are all-too common in anime) but those cliche and formulaic bits are more than offset by the surprising amount of depth, passion, and pure love that the writers put into this game.

tldr: It's compelling, creative, and obviously made with carefully crafted care. Far from your average jrpg experience, made an anime skeptic feel like a bit of weeb for the story and characters. 9/10- still haven't seen everything it has to offer though so this could change.

End of game edit: this is the most inspiring game I've ever played. Takes awhile to complete, but by goodness is it worth it. With time, every theme introduced near the start gets taken to the next level by the end. Strongly recommend finishing this once you pick it up.

great game! I play this game a lot and I can say its one of the best if not THE best first person shooter I've ever played. My only problem is that you shouldnt have to pay money to track your kills and it could use more imediate apeal because you have to really get into it in order for it to be fun
