Campaign? Awesome. Love it. 100%

Multiplayer? Fun! 9/10

Warzone? The worst ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to grace the Steam Store.

Unfortunatly, one of these 3 modes is what they are banking on carrying this game's lifespan.

Guess which one it is?

Early Access Review
I can see the appeal, but personally I just don't like it. I can't walk out of my starting house without alerting every zombie on the block to my location, and they never seem to stop following me no matter how long I hide or how far I run. Even when I get perks that let me make less noise and be less likely to be seen by zombies, I somehow aggro the zombie all the way down the street just by breathing.

To me, it feels like this game is trying to do the two sides of zombie games at the same time and it just doesn't work for me. You want to make a game where combat is not the best answer? Great, let me actually hide from the zombies or have some other means of distracting them so I can escape. You want me to have the power to fight the zombies? Great, let me swing a hammer and actually do some damage instead of just knocking the zombie back. In this game I feel like I can't fight, I can't hide, and I can't run. So what am I supposed to do except never leave the house I spawn in?

Maybe I'm just missing something. Maybe there's some mechanic the tutorial didn't tell me that would solve my problem of just not being able to do anything in this game. But as it stands I'm not having fun walking around, finding a can of soup in a cabinet, and then running from the crowd of zombies that never stop following me until I die. Over and over again.

EDIT: To the people saying "Don't Run", notice I also said "no matter how much I run OR HIDE." I can walk all I want, they still follow me like I'm marked for death. And even if I go into a house, sneak around so they can't hear me, and try to hide away in a bathroom or something, all that does is make me wait while they bang on the door forever. It's like they can smell me.

Imagine if they mixed Hotline Miami with Doom and put it in the format of one of those addicting Flash games from NotDoppler. I told myself "okay I'll just play one more bit and then I'll stop" and next thing I knew I beat the game and started new game plus.

I have two issues with this game however. First is that while playing the game you unlock "logs" or whatever from the crew in each level as you go through it. Once you beat the last level you start new game plus. You keep the music tracks, all your weapons (though you can't seem to upgrade the weapons that you didn't upgrade before which is a bit annoying), but those data logs get "re-locked" and you unlock them again as you play the game. My issue is that for the last level if you don't die in the final stretch then you don't get to see that last log and have to go through the whole game again. It's just a little annoying but not a big deal as I plan on doing New Game+ anyway.

The second is the Worm/Centipede boss. I won't say what you do for those who want to figure it out themselves, but in one part of the boss it gives a clear indicator that you need to use a grenade. However there is another part of the boss where you use a different item that it does not say what to use. I will admit upon reflection that it really should have been more obvious, but at the same time I feel if you're going to put a picture of a grenade on one part to show what to do, then do the same with other "item specific" parts of the battle.

These were just small annoyances but not at all game breaking or even that frustrating. Overall the game is a 9/10 for me and I can't wait to jump back in and do New Game+!

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow, and insidious killer....
Reynauld on the other hand will screw you six ways to Sunday when he swipes all your hard earned loot. So really overconfidence isn't that big a deal.

Overall 9/10 would restart a 40 week campaign for the achievement cause someone in my party decided that Dismas was too cool and offed him AGAIN.

Plague Doctor is best waifu don't @ me.

This game was fun while it was being worked on by the devs. I bought it when it was released because it seemed like a cool concept and the devs were responding to reports of bugs so I wanted to support the project. Imagine my surprise that one day in the discussion page the devs made a statement that the author had "moved on to other projects". No response to my question of if that meant it was completley abandoned and no response to anyone making reports anymore answering my question. I uninstalled and left it be for a long while. I don't normally review as I don't normally have a lot of contructive things to say, but this is an exception as I realized that some people are actually still buying this game almost a year after its abandonment.

This is a warning: Don't buy this game expecting it to work. Can you have fun with it? Maybe, yeah. It wouldn't be the first broken game that some people still love to play. But if you find a game breaking bug at any point in the game that would force you to restart or anything, don't expect anything to be done about it.
