The building system is objectively inferior compared to the first game.

No boats.

Exploration is very underwhelming compared to the first game.

Nearly every aspect of the game is buggy, boxes get stuck inside the character model, clutter randomly spawns around my base, enemies clip though walls regularly as well as spawn within walled areas. Lining up logs and rocks is unbelievably annoying and good luck trying to make adjustments later, it's impossible to target specific things once you have a bunch of stuff built in a small area.

Lazy enemy management, it's clear they just have a timer going that spawns mobs regularly with increased difficulty, it's transparent and immersion breaking.

Seems like it was handed to an offshore team along with about $50k and the directive to "Make a clone of 'The Forest' with a new story line".

tl;dr: This game is a huge let down compared to the first one, just shy of being a cash grab.

Garbage controls, I don't understand how you can make controls so retardedly bad. A shame.

I'm shocked, this game is actually fun! It's pretty chill during the planning step, I nearly use my entire kit for the more complicated levels with the bonuses. Use the spray paint to map out your route on the ground, poke holes to create a path, use the environment to your advantage, and get creative! The race to beat the clock after setting up my route is super fun.

There's also an editor and loads of player made content which adds entire campaigns to the game with different and new tools and even enemies!

The game seems to use a certain level of ray/path tracing which is awesome and I've never had a single crash.

A few nice to haves:
- strengthen certain things such as shipping containers and 18 wheelers where it makes sense - steel/iron/etc.
- Hotkeys for quick save/load
- Save Replays

Overall this is an actual Video Game that's fun and I highly recommend it.

Pretty disappointing compared to the first one, just go buy that instead as this game is inferior in every way. Finally got the "grappling hook" which was the last thing I had my hopes up for and it's a HUGE disappointment. Inferior product compared to the first game.

Pros:
- Coop
- funny bugs
- fast bug fixes

Cons:
- Ghetto grappling hook
- Ugly Characters
- Terrible Voice Acting
- Corny Story
- Very Boring City Design
- EVERYTHING needs stamina
- incorrect usage of the word "immunity"
- Poor controls, unlocked moves don't proc on a dice roll (e.g. CTRL to roll when landing)
- Arbitrary bindings and console "hold" controls are extremely annoying.
- Textures have a sharpening filter which looks hella ugly
- Can't turn off terrible TAA without modifying config directly and then setting it to read-only
- DLSS is a blurry mess but everyone should know better then to use that garbage
- Windowed Borderless

Another "potato-bits pixel grafix hurr durr" tutorial game that looks alright in screenshots but is actually trash. Terrible controls, game is loud with no options to reduce volume, only mute them. This is the "thumbnail click-bait" of steam.

no content, boring as hell. Pretty much copy paste of other survival "mmo" games with a few changes.

A glorified tech demo with skins. Bland game, no depth, half the cool stuff you can mine doesn't give you anything. Mobs spawn right behind you from the ground/walls all the time. Way too much focus on skins/hats even though this is just a coop game. Don't be fooled, this is NOTHING like L4D or Borderlands.

bought this game to play coop with my friends but we went to launch it and spent 20 minuts researching how to get it to launch... After installing xlive or whatever, the game started but froze and locked the mouse cursor. After more research and deleteing and adding dlls we gave up. Ended up torrentling the RELOADED release which worked perfectly.

Early Access Review
This game has missed several launch dates, as far back as 2012 and grows more stagnant by the month when it usually gets an update. Updates have been pointless add-ons like NPC idle animations, monster name generator, a few chairs, experiments by devs that won't be in the game, ingame minigames that no one plays. The quests are incredibly long and boring, you have to go through the same dungeon over and over to brute force your way through it since it's essentially a time sink barrier. Game lacks basic features like setting spawn points, tree growing animations (or sprites), tons of items are not named correctly and/or the icons don't match the item.

**RANT WARNING**
Yes, it is a beta and that's exactly my point, the developers spend more time playing around with experiments and creating silly NPC animations when they should be working on the core game aspect, questing, making unique enemies, unique dungeons, expand crafting, etc. The current iteration of the game is what you are going to get at launch with some NPC housing elements and that's it. The stretch goals might get into the game at launch but I expect them to simply fall back on the disclaimer that was attached to most of those goals which is to add them in post launch. Save your money and just pirate the game, the first thing the devs did after selling over a million copies was take a 6 month vacation and blew all the cash so the development slowed down dramatically. Obviosuly poor leadership and management since I've watched a couple of the devs stream and they seemed to know thier stuff, but without proper direction people will do whatever they feel like doing, the fun stuff.

tl;dr: pirate it.
