The only steam workshop that I know of that warns you of anime along side mature content in BIG bold lettering.

8/10 Had this for years and have loved it since. But way too many weebs and coomers.

Well, I bought it, played it, and beat the game to 100% completion. Meaning I got all the achievements before writing this review. And I can confidently say that this game feels half assed, and not as important as it was advertised to be. I honestly feel ripped off. This just feels exactly what it was a year and a half ago when shown off for the first time. And that's a tech demo with two new modes. Only now it's nearly double the price from the first game. Glitches that were in the free demo version, still somehow were in this full released version. Like the AI getting stun locked when interacting with each other. Saiko side walking in the ground after being stabbed by the blonde girl, hits not registering when fighting AI. Saiko locked running in place in hunger mode if your holding an item when touched. I thought with the time between the demo and release, that kind of stuff would be fixed or checked by the play testers. Making me question what was going on in between then if it was still there?

The AI is a joke at some points too. The main advertised character elissu, that was supposed to be this menacing, toying, and overall threat to the player on the modes she's in. Is just almost non of those in reality when you learn the simply concept of either running, or Micheal Jackson moon walking around the map keeping eye contact with her. Since the speed you walk, is the same speed her dump truck ass moves when trying to attack you on foot. You can pretty much find the shrine and objectives backwards without taking any damage. Though a few times even when the shrine in supposed to be a safe haven spot. The AI still moves in to kill, only to remember few seconds later their not supposed to be there. And run to the back of the shrine and look around lost.

Speaking of the shrine, Why does the voice never shut the ♥♥♥♥ up? Five seconds into the first mode and your barraged to take the heart and start doing fetch quest stuff in specific order of modes to move in the story. Why couldn't it have been you find the shrine first, then the voice starts talking. Also, I really don't like how everything is tied to completing these fetch objectives. I know that's one of the major parts of the previous game. But in that we had the option to get out our way by either the codes on the board, finding the pages, or risk sneaking and stealing the keys off saiko. And there was nothing yelling at us to do it a specific way. I understand this was meant for the purpose to tell the "story". I feel like there were better ways to do it though. Apparently there's lots of easter eggs in the game. I assume in the forum of the phone you get near the end being able to call phone numbers, if you know certain numbers you spawn things I guess. But unless you get to spawn stuff like weapons or spawn/respawn AI. Then I don't see the point in playing after beating the game in every mode. Including "extreme" mode which is just the map being darker then before, and you have no map to help you keep track of fetch stuff. I thought that's what the whole game was meant to be honestly. I think it would have played a lot better and made certain mechanics more useful. It would force you to really think and watch your corners, remembering paths while being chased or stalked, instead of looking at the map most of the time and seeing a quick blimp of the enemy before they attack. In hunger mode you can pretty much track saiko the whole time without ever seeing her.

In general I didn't enjoy this game that much as I wanted to. And I had my expectation low with how things are going right now with the series at the moment. I know from most of these other reviews from play testers, players with only one or two hours of play time. It doesn't seem like it's a bad game. But with the dev offering this game free to specific types of people. Removing comments and discussions that disagree with the dev or this game, and fans rushing in now to defend this game like it's better then the first one somehow. It's pretty clear the state of how this game is being received by fans that aren't brainwashed. Which is a tech demo cash grab that's meant to be a test for the anticipated nightmare mode. I will not be surprised if this review gets deleted. If it does, then it'll prove my point on how the dev is trying to keep the game looking great to potential new players.

Update:01/29/24
So it seems that my discussion has been deleted by the dev themselves out of the blue. Speculating and guessing the state of this game and future projects in the discussion. So I rest my case in the fact that the dev is doing damage control, and silencing anyone that speaks up.

Damn, now every time someone plays an acoustic guitar. I'll be reminded I don't have a short haired childhood friend that turns into the love of my life...decent game. Main character is a little creepy ♥♥♥♥♥ boy though.

I would like to start off this review by thanking the creator of this game for allowing me to voice in it, and give me a key for this game to play and review.

I was going to make a review video about this game in great detail. However I don't feel as if it is deserving of me taking two to three weeks of editing on my free time, just for a handful of people to actually watch.

Instead I will upload highlights of me and my friend going through the first two missions on a later date. With that said I will list the problems/thoughts on this game from a perspective of someone who bought this game. I'll update this review with a link when I end up making the video.

VOICE ACTORS: Biggest issue or fault is the voices in this game. Both characters you play as have very poor voices that don't honestly fit the look of them. Since I was part of the voices cast, I know the female character "Rocky" had a much better voice actress in the early stages of this game. Only to be changed by someone who clearly doesn't speak English as her first language. "Captain Benchi" is the cringest voice that you are stuck with throughout the game of course. sounding way too British like he was faking it, as well as sounding bland with some of his lines like he doesn't care. The friend that I had with me when playing who is actually from the UK, said that he was awful with that voice. Other characters are better, However I can't say the same admittedly for a few of my characters I voiced. One being the Admiral I voiced, this is my fault as he was the last character I voiced after the enemy grunts. I ran out of idea's of how to make each character sound different within my own personal voice. I am aware that this developer and the studio is based in Malaysia, so it's very difficult to get good English voices. It's just that some of the voices "me included" should of had better actors/actresses. Some people I feel will love this however, as it's funny to laugh at the first time. But If people are only buying this game for the bad voice acting, then I feel like there are problems.
I feel a simple option to turn off voices should be an option, as hearing the same voices yelling the same three quotes in combat gets very annoying.

AI: The ai in this game is bad, specifically the ai partner you have. I've had to restart missions almost a dozen times, because the ai partner would not move into the elevator sections. As well as blocking you from getting to certain areas like a doorway, and since I can't move them. I would have to run to the other side of the room so they would follow me, just so I could get past them to move through doorways I needed to get past. Then other times in combat the ai partner will be glued to you like a lost child, standing in front of you when shooting at enemies. Or getting themselves killed when you aren't next to them. I feel like a babysitter for this idiot, because half the time they either don't shoot, and when they do they miss most of their shots. Or they run up to the enemy and start trying to beat them up, only to get b i t c h slapped down by a standard type enemy. Not to mention if they die, it forces you to restart from the last checkpoint. I glitched the ai partner on the third map, so that I got them stuck on the train wreckage. allowing me to freely go into combat myself worrying only about myself. So again, if I need to rely on a glitch to have decent time, then something should be fixed. The enemy ai isn't the worst, but they tend to respawn on top of each other in some area's.

WEAPONS: The selection of weapons you get is decent. and the way you unlock them is rewarding in some cases which is nice. But the problem is that there is nothing to really force you from using anything besides a rifle. Because once you fully upgrade the rifle you like the most and the ammo, you pretty much have a endgame weapon. Forcing you almost to never use anything else. This is a perfect example, I found the AT4 blueprint just in time for the AA tank hunting task. All four rockets hit the tank in the weak spot, and it still wasn't dead. But with my fully upgraded G36 rifle, I killed the other one in only three mags. Not to mention that it's cheaper and easier to get ammo for the rifle since most of the enemies have rifles at that point.
Also when you pick up certain weapons like the vector smg, the game will replace your already existing weapon slot, with that smg you pick up that was meant to go in your inventory slot.

REWARDS/UNLOCKS: I already mentioned about the weapon unlocks, and I'm aware that you can mod the files to change characters. But I mean in-game rewards and unlocks for those that don't know how to mod. The first game you got different skins, outfits, even a setting that changed the subtitles to sound more funny and stupid. Just for doing certain things like achievements. But here, you have to play the game twice just to get something worth as a reward, yet that doesn't even work either. your told if you beat the game again on a harder setting after beating it the first time, you get cheat commands afterwords when typing in commands via the console. I tried everything to get them to work after I did beat the game the second time, but it never worked. Also forcing you to keep playing the game on harder difficulties each time just to keep everything you unlocked and upgraded saved. Also no level selection, so if their was a part of the game you liked, you have to play the game again just to play that specific part of the game.

Overall, I did not enjoy this game as much as I wanted too. Truth be told I would never buy a game like this, and wasn't going to even buy this game, even though I was in it. I don't hate this game, it has a lot of potential and good parts in it that should be recognized, but I'm not going to lie about the negatives that out weigh the positives in a game like this. Plus knowing that the the team of four people that made this have been working on it as a passion project for the past fourish years, is definitely something that should be seen as an huge achievement. Saying the whole game is bad would be unfair, but it would also be unfair to give it a up review for the way it currently is.

THINGS TO ADD OR FIX:
CO-OP (I'm aware of the limitation for the development on this part, but this will get more people to buy)
Voice toggle option
Fix the partner AI
Fix spawn locations for enemies on third and jammer maps
Fix cheat command reward
Add better rewards/unlocks
Fix inventory glitch when picking up endgame weapons
Add level/section option
Add difficulty selection option

Early Access Review
Absolutely love this game, was recommended this game by a friend and loved it even since.

First while where the workshop came out, the game was really packed. now that the hype has died though. the game can be slow to try and find other people for certain game modes. however that doesn't subtract from the fun itself when you do find a match of the game mode you want.

The earning and customization is also a fair and very well thought out. Both for the models that you use, or the condo that you stay in. Plus with the wide selection of models and props you can download and buy ingame, your never felt with limited options. I rarely feel that I truly need to grid for anything that I want to get either, as there are many different and fun ways to earn things that you want to get. As well as special events that make it more worth while of taking part in to unlock event only items, such as a spamable potato gun.

Only downsides I could say are the load times, and the population count. The load times in this game make GTA Online loads look like joke sometimes. The second issue is mostly out of the developers control, but it would be nice to see a bigger number of people playing this game. If you have friends to play with or convinced to buy the game though, then this won't be to much of a problem.

Bottom line if you got good friends, love mini games, and have a fair amount of creativity on the side. while willing to deal with the long load times for servers, then you should really enjoy this under appreciated gem.

Awesome game to play, tons of mods to completely change the game for what it already is thanks to the community workshop. Because of how old it is, i'm able to run it with little to no problems on my Surface 3 tablet. With that said I still don't get high fps, but that mainly because of what i'm playing the game on. Plus the amount of mods that are downloaded don't help too. Bottom line, The game is really fun, especially if you have the right mods to go with it.
