Sorry if the reply is a bit late (I'm very inactive with checking most survival groups these days). But to weigh in about tickrates. You don't receive ticks, a tick is an instanced calculation of the current game state by the server. Net_graph doesn't show the tickrate, it shows your cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate (both desired and current values) which can be used to infer the server tickrate if you have them set higher than the tickrate, but there is no way of knowing the server tickrate via net_graph if the client has their rates set lower than the tickrate. Using net_graph as proof would be moot as well since the alias command can be used to macro your rates to 30/30 whilst net_graph is displayed.

The increased tickrate isn't the source of anecdotal "smoother commons" you experience when lowering your lerp value either, it's actually an auxilliary side effect of the uncapped bandwith that comes with using the tickrate enabler. It basically allows all packets to flow smoothly without having to adhere to an arbitrary limitation. Even at 100 tick with 0 lerp commons will still be jittery because information pertaining to their positioning isn't sent every packet. Hence changing the nb_update_frequency value to zero will make common infected smooth as it's the limiting/controlling factor regarding their movement.

ps. sv: is server framerate, which is also not the tickrate and wholely useless in that regard. I used to set my server framerate to 1000 when I ran my server regardless of whether the tickrate was 30/60/100.

Since most players dont use net_graph 4 it'll be difficult to identify which games were played on servers using 100 tickrate tho...

If you go onto a server and open net_graph 4, you can see the tickrate by looking at the SV value in the bottom left corner of the graph

Thank you Soul for bringing this to my attention. it will be investergated and any WR or top 10 times that has been obtained in this way will be removed. As you have stated already Soul playing on a server running a 100 tick rate is so much easier.

You guys are doing a great job with this group and you have my full support, but one thing I feel i need to point out is some of the WR on your board are done on servers running at 100 tickrate, and other are running on default 30 tickrate

Im not pointing fingers at any body or anyones record just saying if you play on a server running 100 tickrate it will be a lot easier then playing on a server with the default 30

So maybe you need prof of the tickrate, and only compare that game against another played at the same tickrate
