Giants Stood Here

Dear Friends,

I must say, it has been a wild ride this past year and a half. So many things have happened in my life and I’m in places I never even thought I would be. When I first started YinYang Gaming, I told myself it was out of necessity. We had just come off the very sudden shutdown of Tetanus Gaming and many players were looking for a new place to call their home. I took about a week and threw together some stuff and made a half-way decent server that I put up under the name NexGen Gaming. We have been on a roller coaster ever since then. We’ve had our ups and our downs. Ultimately though, I believe it is time to close the doors on the TTT Server.

Trust me, I don’t make this decision lightly. I have been mulling it over for the past few days. Ever since the update, I have been very stressed over everything server related. I no longer feel that I can continue to make the server what I wish it to be. It has taken on a life of its own and I can no longer steer it back to the original vision. However, one of the larger things that has led to this decision is how it has affected all of you guys. Through the life of the server, I have seen good people turn bad, staff become corrupted, and friends become enemies. This server has had negative effects on many people. What started out as good has turned sour and is slowly moving toward a breaking point. I refuse to let it come to that. For that reason, I have decided to shut down the TTT Server. I feel this is the best course of action. I know many of you will be sad to see it go. I too am sad to do this, but I do feel it is for the best. However, there I believe there is hope.

I would not like this to be the end of our group though. I have met some really great people through the creation of our community. I really do enjoy talking and playing with you guys. I really don’t want the end of the server to be the end of the community. Perhaps without the server, some of the tension will be released and we can come together once again. I firmly believe that we can survive and even thrive without the server. Our community is strong enough to endure. For this reason, I propose that we move away from being just a server-specific community and become a more general gaming community.

In order to better facilitate this kind of change, I would possibly keep the forum and also open up an official and large voice chat server that we could use whenever playing together. Ultimately, it is up to all of you though. I have no power to keep you here. I hope that you will choose to stand with our community as we move together through these uncharted waters. I know that together we can move toward something great. I hope we can take this journey together. I will leave this post open for comments. Please talk to me and let’s make this into something great.
