A few back reports surfaced on the internet that Valve was inviting top CSS players and select community leaders to their headquarters. The purpose of the meeting was completely unknown to everyone and speculation ran wild but we knew something important was brewing. Yesterday, August 11th, we all found out why we were here.

The “small” list of invited people included UK, German, Slovakian, and French CSS pro players, representatives from ESL, Zblock, and myself from ESEA (about 20 in total). Valve graciously flew us all out to Seattle for this "secret meeting" but the purpose was entirely unknown and so everyone's imagination were running wild. In fact, one international attendee who was asked for his visit's purpose into the US didn't even know what to tell a US Customs Agent... he's lucky he didn't get shipped right back home!

The ip adress for our XC server will change, our account at i3d.net will be stopped at 28-03-2009, we already have an other server hosted by XC I don't aim I Spray @ his home on 100mbit / Q9450 server. We currently are searching for new members. Because some of us are less active these days, 3 years ago we had about 21 members now still 10 active members. Remember that we are a fun clan. Some of us want to play wars, but some of us don't have the time for that, so it would be nice that we could have some members that can play wars.

And we especially could use some members that have some knowledge about configuring the server, now it all depends on me, but it would be great if some others also know how to start the war config and know how to use RCON/HLSW or restarting the server if there's a problem, because i'm also pretty busy with my son and girlfriend and some other members too.

A little bit about XC, we started around 2003 with some colleagues that it would be cool to have a clan and a server within a couple of months we had our own dedicated server running 2 CS servers, UT 99 server, TS/Ventrilo and a website. And now we have a shared server with 18 slots Tick 100 Ultra Boosted at I3D.net we only don't have TS anymore because now we can use Xfire or Steam for voice comm, because this is less expensive and less maintenance.

So about the members. Most of us are friends and old colleagues, and a couple of the members where always on our server so we asked them to join us, because we know that they skilled and never where whining on the server  and they are still here with us. Some of the members are dads  so we’re pretty oldskool, but still not rusty and the age is between 19 and 35 years. But age doesn’t matter.

Some minimum requirements to join:
Dutch or English language
Skill: mid or higher, but just some experience would be nice. It’s about fun not specifically skill.
Some experience with server configs/ RCON/ HLSW/ FTP would be appreciated.
Age doesn’t matter just be cool. War experience or I could arrange wars would also be cool. Maybe we could play on ClanBase or another league.
Some info about you what you do? School, work just tell us something about you. Where you live? Etc.

We are splitting the cost with all the members you can see the invoice (€275 euro). We always rent the server for 6 months so that people can quit after that, instead of a year if they want to.

Since today our server is reinstalled by our hoster they made a switch from Win2k3 to Linux. They notified me yesterday that it would be reinstalled, but i read the notification mail today, so all the files are gone. I have a backup from 2 months ago, but the configuration has also be changed because of Linux. So today the server will be restarted a lot, just be patient.
