From May 5th to May 9th, Blizzard's much-anticipated hero shooter will enter its Open Beta period, accessible to anyone and everyone. This is a chance for players to take a look at the game first-hand, and gain valuable experience that can be put towards the game's official launch date on May 24th. For the duration of the Open Beta, we'll be hosting a series of livestreams and practice sessions open to the general public. All of you are invitied to drop into our Discord server and break out as many matches as you'd like with us.

- Discord is a free VoIP server that can run in your browser. It's clean, sleek, and easy to use.

- Currently, there are no dedicated timeslots for this event. The Discord server will be open 24/7, and players can team up with anyone in the Overwatch channels. Be on the lookout for our Moderators, who will help direct the flow of players and get games started.

- Periodically throughout the Open Beta, I'll put up the stream to YouTube Live, and those who would like to join the stream are welcome to queue up with me. We'll play regular Quick Matches, as well as custom games on the side. You will need to turn off your Discord microphone and speak through Overwatch's voice chat, so that my encoder picks up your voice. Of course, a microphone is not required.



I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone in the Fallen Vanguard for keeping things running in my absence. You folks have grown into a cohesive, self-sufficient body that quite honestly doesn't need my supervision. You handle yourselves and those around you with respect and integrity, and I've received nothing but kind words and good cheer from anyone who mentions the Clan. Anytime I assign someone a task, it is performed diligently and enthusiastically. The Clan Council has been phenomenal in their support and administrative capabilities, and I've cultivated relationships with some of the best people I know. And we're not slowing down. We've got more slots open and a big summer ahead of us; it's only going to get livelier from here on out. I'll be with the Fallen Vanguard every step of the way, and I hope you'll continue to stand with me.

On March 25 of 2014, the Fallen Vanguard was born. Nytec and I wanted to get our hands on those fancy Clan Research Blueprints we kept hearing about. We built the first keys to the Dojo, and cooked up a respectable number of rooms on our own, before running out of Forma and crying about it thereafter. We invite a few friends to give us a hand.


On April 18th of 2014, Nytec and I realized we actually had more than eight friends, and we couldn't fit them all in a Ghost Clan. We also ran out of Forma again, and figured we'd leech reach out to others for support. We moved up to Shadow Tier, and started accepting anyone and everyone into the Clan. Though our only advertising campaign was a copy/paste message in Recruiting chat every few minutes.

Nevertheless, our ranks grew, and I realized that Warframe was a game that I genuinely wanted to invest in. I've led Guilds/Clans in the past, and it's a pretty hefty amount of work. I was hesitant to take that step with Warframe, but I soon grew to love the game, its developers, and the community at large. I wanted to help facilitate that bond. I wanted to make A̶m̶e̶r̶i̶c̶a̶ the Fallen Vanguard great again.


On June 10th of 2014, the Clan steps into the Storm. We set up the infamous recruitment thread, and a rag-tag Council of sorts starts to take shape. Our Dojo expands rapidly -- rooms and wings and whole floors come to life. I meet folks from all walks of life, and they share their stories with me. The Vanguard becomes the crossroads for these stories, a truly global platform of communication.

We become the 7th most viewed/replied thread in the Storm Clan sub-forum. Applications pour in, and roster "clean-ups" become much more frequent. I almost decide to kick Dash, but concede that I could still make use of him (JUST KIDDING DASHY ILU).

We partner up with gaming community Lux Eterna, and the Vanguard reaches the peak of its community engagement. Runehawk went on to become a multi-millionaire with six wives and private yacht. Which is actually all true, except for the money and the wives.

And the yacht.


On February 22nd of 2016, the Fallen Vanguard became a Mountain Clan. And Runehawk may or may not have shed a few tears.

Seriously, you folks are amazing. Absolutely fantastic. If you folks were a fruit, you would be a banana. Sweet, good for the health, and even tastier when you peel the skin off.

I didn't really think that through, but I digress.

We're making it big, ladies 'n' gents. You and I have a bright future ahead of us. To all players, both old and new, I welcome you to write this new chapter with me.

Update 18 is a monumental update, bringing us a great deal of content to uncover and explore. But most importantly, it provides us with an opportunity to start fresh. A new dawn. A second dream, if you will. We're going to be making a few changes in the Vanguard, so we can kick off the new year with renewed vigor. I'm going to try my very best to keep you folks regularly updated. I'd like to have everyone in the loop with what goes on behind the scenes, our future plans, and make routine rank adjustments. I absolutely adore this Clan, and I want to see it grow and change even more than it already has. You people have helped shape the Vanguard to what it is today, and you deserve to know what's going on and what's to come. So without further delay, let's begin.


Lux Eterna is gaming community that some of you may already be familiar with. They are a close-knit, well-structured community that spans across multiple games. There were a handful of Vanguard members that were in Lux Eterna before I even knew of it myself. Going forward, we are going to be partnering with them for a unified, cohesive gaming experience. After a good bit of discussion, matters have been largely finalized by both parties. Simply put, here's how things will work:

The Fallen Vanguard will serve as Lux's "foothold" in Warframe. Lux members who may have an interest in Warframe can be sent to us. We already have a well-established platform (popular recruitment thread, fully-researched Dojo, external connections, etc), so Lux can make use of our existing resources to better transition newer members into Warframe.

Lux will provide us with access to their paid-for server, and give us our own channel. We can use their Teamspeak openly for all our Warframe needs, as well as make connections with members of Lux across other games. Our RaidCall group will be discontinued. Its recent updates have proven to be ill-received, and the program has become riddled with ads and technical complications. This is as good a time as any to make the transition to a new program. We hope that our partnership with Lux will lead to a much more active and user-friendly experience for both parties.

VioletRevolver (Crimmy) serves as Lux Eterna's representative, and will be one of our main contacts going forward. If I am not available, please speak to him should you have any inquiry regarding Lux Eterna.

Dasheroo will be serving as the Fallen Vanguard's representative for Clan relations and external affairs. You may also contact him should you have any questions regarding the partnership or related matters.

Teamspeak credentials will be posted in-game via the Clan Message. Please refrain from giving this information to players outside the Fallen Vanguard. If you would like to invite a friend into the server, simply inform either Dasheroo, Crimmy, or myself.

And that's about it. I'm glad to finally have everyone on the same page. This is a big leap for the Vanguard, and I'm excited to see where this takes us in the future. Let's show Lux Eterna the courtesy that we've always given to others.


We're making a few changes to the upper ranks of the Fallen Vanguard. Senior members will now have more specialized roles:

Nytec - Archchancellor: Essentially a third-in-command. Manages the Steam Group, member database, and oversees Dojo construction.

Metheria - Chief of Recruitment: Manages the recruitment thread, assesses applications, and helps me adjust member ranks.

Forizen - Conclave Captain: Will host one or two PvP sessions a week, where Clan members can drop in and out. If you're looking to try out PvP or have questions, Forizen is your man.

Dash - Clan Ambassador: Acts as a liason between the Vanguard and other parties. Represents the Clan in meetings when I am not available (i.e. I'm too lazy).

??? - Cephalon Vanguard: The Clan's personal Cephalon, serving as a guide and tutor to new members of the Fallen Vanguard. This will be an experimental project; we'll see how well this turns out.

Please note that these changes will take some time to be fully realized, and there is still much to be done before everything is in full swing. I will keep the Clan updated when different elements go live.


We also have positions that need filling. If you are interested in stepping up and joining the senior ranks, send me a message via the Warframe forums, or message me in-game.

Raid Commander: Hosts one or two trials as week. Responsible for squad preparation and mission leadership. Must be comfortable using their microphone to issue orders. This is a big one, as the main reason why we don't have an organized raid stricture is because I don't have a dedicated figurehead.

Raid Deputy: Works with the Raid Commander to organize squads and fills in when the R.C is unavailable. Again, should be comfortable using their microphone.

Recruitment Officers: Assists Metheria in his duties, and keeps the recruitment thread lively and free of misinformation. Assist the Cephalon in guiding new members.

Assistant Captain: Assists Forizen in his duties, and encourages members to partake in the Conclave sessions. Helps members complete their daily challenges.


In the future, I'd like to do a pass on all the Dojo rooms and update their decor. We may also open up a fourth floor just-for-fun. This will be a large-scale project that we'll plan out first, making a master list of all the required resources. If you have any suggestions for Dojo decor/color/expansion, speak to me or Nytec.


I'm excited. Are you excited? You should be excited. A new era awaits the Vanguard, and I'm very happy to share it with you all. You people are amazing beyond words, and I hope to continue working with you for many moons to come.

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I'll get right into things, so hold onto your helmets.

But I suppose our helmets don't actually come off anyways, so there's no real reason to hold onto them. Or do they come off? I haven't tried myself. Wouldn't want to see my face or anything. I can't afford to take anymore hits to my self-esteem.

Anyways.


We’ve made a few changes to our upper management structure. Nytec will now take the new position of the Vanguard's Archchancellor. He will be responsible for moderating our Steam Group and RaidCall, as well as acting as an advisor to myself.

Your new Deputy General is WaveM6. He will manage our members and recruitment alongside myself, and act as Brigade General when I am not available.

We also welcome Metheria, wearing_socks, and dasheroo to the ranks of the Imperial Legates. A noble salute to you gentlemen.

Our Legates and Centurions are expected to continue kindly enforcing our regulations and assisting any member who requests aid. Do your best to facilitate and encourage Clan chat activity, as well as RaidCall activity upon its relaunch (details in next section).

RaidCall moderator and Raid leadership positions will be discussed internally and then presented to the Imperial Legates in the near future.

Side Note #1: if you are a Legionary aspiring to the climb the ranks, take assurance in that there is no limit to the number of Legate and Centurion positions available. Those deserving of such titles will most certainly receive them. Maintain activity, assist your brothers and sisters, and partake in discussion where you are comfortable. If you have not already joined this Group, kindly do so.

Side Note #2: I will be doing a pass on inactive members and dismissing them from the Clan. Because the in-game Clan Log does not distinguish from dismissals and willing resignation, do not be alarmed when you see an influx of <Player> has left the Clan! in the Clan Log


We will soon be actively promoting and managing our RaidCall group. Yes, for real this time. Frankly, there has never been a better time to do so with the rise of raids on the horizon. If you have not already downloaded RaidCall, please do so here: http://www.raidcall.com/index.html

You will never be required to participate in voice chat, however, be prepared to make it habit of opening RaidCall when you open Warframe. I’d like to facilitate and promote this platform as much as possible, and it is much easier to do so with an active user base. In addition, when we host scheduled raids, RaidCall participance will indeed be mandatory. Again, using your mic will always be optional, but you must be able to listen to commands issued throughout the raid.

I will be working out details with Nytec and update the Clan once things are sorted out.


Update 16 will mark the rise of raids, and as such, some semblance of organization is in order. We don't know how mechanic/team-focused these raids are going to be, and so we aren't going to develop a raid structure unless it is deemed needed. We will wait until we have more information, and plan from there.

Raid scheduling would depend on several factors as well. We may have a limited number of entries per week, or must craft a key in order to access the raid (pls no). In any case, it's too early to say, and we can do nothing but ride the Hype Train indefinitely. But rest assured, we will keep updated on everything surrounding raids, and relay instructions to the Clan as appropriate.


We’re all ecstatic about Update 16, and I'm excited to take the Clan through whatever it has to offer. The Fallen Vanguard still has much more in store, and we will do everything in our power to continue making the Vanguard experience an enjoyable one.
