Valve has made an announcement about the Source engine source code leak.

They confirmed the leak, but since the code leaked is an outdated version from late 2017/early 2018, they assured it is safe to play games running on the most recent build of the Source engine such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or Team Fortress 2.

They however recommended to play on official Valve servers for maximum security and will continue to investigate and provide updates to news outlets and players. They also advised people to report any credible information on the leak.

So for the time being, DO NOT play Team Fortress 2 or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or even any game running on the Source Engine on Steam, until there's a fix to it ! I also recommend deactivating auto-updates and setting your profile to private, for good measure.

There's a new type of account hijacking scam going around where the hacker(s) try to get you, through chat, to sign up on a suspicious website to play comp or vote for a team or whatever to steal all your items away !

DO NOT CLICK THEIR LINK ! If one of your friends sends you such messages, unfriend and block them until they get their account back. I've already fell victim to another scam and lost my TF2 items a couple of years ago, and I AM NOT going through this ♥♥♥♥ again ! So better be safe than sorry, and warn your friends everywhere about it !
