Voodoo is currently preparing to become a raiding guild in the new MMO: WildStar, where we will be playing as Exile on an undetermined PvP server. Voodoo's history goes back as far as 2007, and has had a presence in several games since then (WoW, Aion, Rift). Our most notable accomplishment was the world first clear of Hammerknell in Rift.

Our raiding schedule and competitive ambitions can best be described as a mix between softcore and hardcore. A normal raid week, during progression, will consist of up to 20 hours (5 nights) of raiding, though we strive to reduce our weekly maximum to 12 hours (3 nights) as quickly as possible. During the very first week of a new content release, we may even go slightly over 20 hours, but it is entirely dependent upon current member interest and off-hour attendance, and more than 20 hours of attendance is never required. We strive to compete on a global scale, but we still restrict ourselves to raiding in moderation.

The terms "softcore" and "hardcore" can have different meanings to different people... We are the kind of guild that would be considered "softcore" only in terms of our raiding hours (meaning we take pride in defeating as much content in as little of time as possible), but we make "hardcore" usage out of our available raid hours. It's this mentality, where everyone comes to the raid playing to win and with 100% of their character's potential, that allows us to achieve as much as possible in our allotted time.

To potentially save both your time and ours, please be aware that we are only seeking experienced and top-tier applicants. We are not an entry-level raiding guild. Anyone applying should either be a vetted MMO raider (with ranked kills or parses under their belt) or have some other distinguished gaming accomplishments to show (such as playing competitively in another game genre). We only accept a small fraction of the numerous applications that we receive, and you will need something to set you apart, other than just a strong desire to raid.

We typically have a very friendly, mature, and laid back atmosphere. But -- and this is a big "but" -- we are highly competitive when it comes to our raiding roster. Players that underperform will be either sat or replaced, without hesitation. We are always looking to improve our roster, by any means necessary, and we have no problem removing established members if we feel that we can find a better replacement. While the environment rarely feels as cutthroat or intimidating as I am describing, please realize that we simply do not tolerate poor performance, and we are not afraid to hurt feelings when needed.
