In memory of Tim Weed: Committed Programmer, Beloved Spouce, Cherished Father

Tim Weed, born 1982, was a Jewish programmer from Chicago, IL.

Tim's parents, Martha and Jim Weed, encouraged him from a young age to explore computers, gifting him a used Commodore 64 for his 8th birthday. While the machine was old and limited, Tim soon discovered the wonders of video games and began to make his own simple games as well.

Tim became a finance manager at a respectable firm after graduate school, but still found comfort after a long day in programming new and more complex games. During his time, Tim met his beloved wife Valentine and fathered two wonderful children. After 6 years as a finance manager, Tim pursued his passion wholeheartedly.

While Tim worked on many minor releases, his first major contribution was to the Sims 3, spearheading the execution of the game's intercourse mechanic, which he nicknamed 'WooHoo', which is what he shouted during climax. It is customary for members of the TIM WEED clan to greet one another by saying "Tim died for our Sims".

After his time working on the Sims 3, Tim was welcomed onto the Counter Strike: Global Offensive programming team, where he began to make many significant contributions.

Tim's most notable accomplishment on CS:GO was his pioneering of the inclusion of CoD guns, introducing the AUG, which is the offical weapon of the TIM WEED clan.

Life was not perfect for Tim however. Tim could not overcome his love of cigarettes, and soon became addicted. No matter how much his wife, children or friends encouraged him, Tim could not quit smoking.

Unfortunately, Tim's addiction to cigarettes led to lung cancer. His doctor declared that he had, at most, one week to live. His family and coworkers, distraught by his inevitable death, immortalized Tim in the game he helped create by creating a short, memorial video when a specific command is typed in the in-game prompt.
