About the game(ulost)

EverGuard is a randomly generated open world FPS/RPG game where you collect resources to build cool things, fight off monsters, interact with NPC's, and travel to other planets. Items and weapons will be a mix of medieval, industrial, and futuristic themes.

Gameplay revolves around building or conquering a town and managing the people who live in it. Players will have to ensure that the town’s population has enough food to survive and that they have enough wood and other materials to build with.
The player will be able to assign jobs to NPC’s such as mining ores, gathering wood, guarding the town, crafting specific objects or weapons, guarding a group as they gather a resource, and farming.

I will occasionally post screenshots and give updates as to what my team and I are working on.
Lastly, I will be posting playable versions of the game here for free during early alpha.

Yes, I am stil lworking on tihs, albeit slowly now.
Have to work every weekday and when I get home I am mostly too tired to be smart or productive, but I get things done here and there.
However to prove I have been getting things done. here are some pics.

I have been MOSTLY working on improving graphics and speed, but I will get around to moving towards implementing model animation and bone systems which will be a big leap towards actually fleshing the game itself out.

First public alpha release is here!

I am proud to announce the first ALPHA release of EverGuard.
All alpha versions of Everguard will be free and MOST will be public, except for the internal release versions (the ones I give to key beta testers, such as my team).
Beta versions will cost money, though at a reduced price compared to the cost of the release version.

Please note: As this is the first alpha release I would not call this a game yet there are still many bugs, it is a loose arrangement of features and basically what you can do is dig, walk around, and place torches.
Still This will allow you to see how nice it looks so far (I think so atleast :c ).
Keep track of what you are doing while using this so that IF, or when, you encounter a CRASH or the game FREEZES/LOCKS UP you can tell me everything you were doing before it happened.
Also if you get a crash or whatnot then please make a copy of "ERRORS.txt" and "CONSOLE_OUTPUT.txt" located in the same folder as the games .exe file and zip them up to send to me.

If you get an error message about openal or sound or a "runtime library" or something when starting the game then open the folder names "installs" and run the .exe files inside it. Those files will install the required things for running my game ALSO they MUST be run as ADMINISTRATOR!.

TO PLAY: Download the rar file from the link and extract it to anywhere, then open the folder named "Game" and start "Diet3D.exe".

The models as well as the textures contained in this release were made by me.
Some external librarys are used by my engine.
- openal for sound
- freeglut for window management
- freetype for font loading
- libogg for loading ogg vorbis sound files
- zlib for reading/writing zip files
- SimpleFileWatcher for detecting changes to files in the games directory for live asset refreshing.

Fantastic job on the lighting! Can't wait to get all the sounds fixed and perfect for ya'! ALPHA testing here we coooooooome!

Hmmm, theres always room for music. and anyone in this group get's to playtest the public alpha! so if you make music and think you have something that fits go ahead and shoot me a link, i'll check it out ;)
