Borderlands II has a new DLC out today, available on Steam. It will bridge us from BL2 to upcoming BL3. The best part? It is free if you already own Borderalnds' games.

It's about time someone updated us!

We closed down the "Ryandor has 7 Days to Die" (7d2d) server because game developers made it into a hot, swampy mess. A game that once had potential was recoded, reworked, and reimagined into trash. Maybe one day the game may lift it's head and claw it's way out of the ashes. It has been practically a decade of alpha releases, so maybe they will produce official release 1.0 before we all die of old age -- or maybe not. At this point it looks like those developers just needed a hobby project to keep them occupied between workouts and motorcycle rides. Pfffft. Besides, the whole zombie genre is becoming a little moldy old and stinky, isn't it?

At the beginning of the year when I dumped the 7d2d server, I packed the HL2DM server in mothballs. Did you notice? Probably not. We all played the hell out of that game for years and years and years. Our core group evolved over time, then slowly drifted away to other time killers. Then, when Rocco died 215 days ago, we kinda lost our remaining heart to play without his expressive voice. Certainly we didn't mind continuing to pay monthly costs for the dedicated server for years when our friends were playing, but they weren't playing anymore -- YOU weren't playing anymore. I see some of our regular players haven't been in Steam for thousands of days.

Ryandor and his sidekick Kitty came out to visit IRL for a couple weeks this Spring, and when HL2DM wasn't mentioned even once, I knew I had made the right decision. Mothballs it is. Ryandor will always be the legendary mapmaker, but we will have to find a newer game to tweak his creativity. Have any suggestions?

We've been bouncing around playing different games lately like Wildlands (wildpants), Division, Forrest, Dying Light, some oldies but goodies, and two games which demonstrate responsive, dedicated, and skilled developers created Don't Starve series (still adding content) and another great group created Deep Rock Galactic (still in early development) which is our latest obsession.

Our favorite games are always FPS co-op/multiplayers that allow players to invite more than one friend in session, but not a horde. Optional/Customizable AI & NPCs are also a plus because sometimes everyone wants to join a brutal match, and sometimes it is only one or two friends who want easy casual fun. Allowing fan made mods and maps keeps the game interesting and on the favorites list a long time.

Releases that we await include Borderlands 3, Payday 3, Dying Light 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC, and another I can't recall right now. . . could it be hl3dm? Nah, no one believes in that Santa Claus anymore.

You hardly look a day over 19. I will be updating the server in the next couple of days to include all the Christmas maps I can find.

Late this afternoon or evening CST, an RC candidate will be built on top of the changes developers made this weekend. If it doesn't crash, we should have it released by Tuesday morning.

Congrats Devil, my feed says you hit achievement "Knock em Dead" which is 25 7d2d deaths. You get player of the week!


EDIT: Devs now say it will be dropping around 3:30 CST if not sooner. Any delay will be on steam/valve's end. hehe
