Bring back Richard Lord as Wheatley's Voice Actor!

With Portal 2, a new, talkative friend was introduced under the name of Wheatley. Many were satisfied and happy with the voice actor, Richard Lord, in Wheatley's first appearance at E3 2010.

However, it was later decided by Valve that Lord would be replaced by a different voice actor, Stephen Merchant. Some preferred Richard Lord, whereas some liked Stephen Merchant.

This group is for people who prefer the original voice acting by Richard Lord as Wheatley, and want the original voice back.

However, we recognize that change is inevitable, and it is Valve's decision to do so. Richard Lord was meant to be a temporary voice actor in the first place. We also recognize that the current game footage does not fully justify the quality of the final release.

The individuals reflected in this group do not necessarily dislike the abilities of Stephen Merchant.

If you're in this group, chances are some of your friends are also interested in Portal 2. Show them the comparison video and see if they too think Richard Lord should be the voice actor for Wheatley and invite them to the group.

The more members we have, the higher chance of us having some influence over at Valve HQ.

Wow, just watched the video again this past week, and... Sorry, Merchant IS Wheatley. It just didn't sound right, after getting so used to the final voice.

Merchant was good, but there was one line that I could barely hear from his performance (on my PS3, anyway), which I could hear loud & clear from Lord's: The hacking during boot-up. That, and it was hard to make out some of the bird lines without subtitles.

Sorry guys, I liked Lord but now to think of it, Merchent was much better and he wrote many of the lines. I must resign from this group.

Eh, I'm quite disappointed that Mr. Lord didn't end up being the voice of Wheatley, but as far as I know, Portal 2 is incredible and not really lacking in the sound department, so I suppose things worked out for the best.
