Based largely off the game Medieval II: Total War, this group seeks to challenge the traditional standardized Steam RP group by providing players with a return to the past. Starting in 1080 AD, challenges between Christian Kingdoms have divided much of Europe and have left feudal kingdoms in a constant state of worry over multiple threats. Storm clouds are gathering over Europe. Mistrust and rivalries threaten to break and flood the world in a tide of total war. In the south, the threat of the growing influence of Islam brings disbalance to a region formerly controlled by the Christian Byzantium Kingdom. In the Far East, rumors of a new looming threat never before seen by Europe is just on the horizon. All around the world, threats to European stability rise, bringing with them an option for nations. Strength or weakness, division or unity, glory or death. Will you challenge these growing threats and bring your nation to prosperity over all others? Or will you succumb to weakness over your enemies? The choice is yours.

Nation Apps are now open on a first come, first serve basis based on the following map with names included:

A few notes on the map:

The large purple mass in the center of Europe is obviously the HRE
The HRE is divided, obviously, but I will allow one player to control all of the Empire
On this map, Japan is united and it will remain that way within Rp. However, note that it is very divided and players will have frequent rebellions
Once people apply, I'll start a taken nations list
The white spaces on the map are ethnic tribes with no real organized government. If you try to take them, you will be met with some resistance

Timeline

We hope to have everything done by Thursday or Friday. As soon as everything is completed, I will open nation applications. Until then PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ON THE THREAD. We are NOT reserving nations. We hope to start by Sunday. Thank you all for your patience.

Admins

If you are interested in becoming an admin, please contact me immediately. I will not be picking randomly, nor will I be picking my friends or those I have previously RPed with. I am picking you based on your experience and skills. I will ask a few questions. Your ability to answer these questions will ultimately decide whether or not you will become an admin. Please do not be disappointed if I do not pick you to be an admin. I will release admin jobs and roles when nation applications open.

A Note on Open Regions

When I finally get the map done, you'll see that there is a lot of white space. This is because Medieval kingdoms of this time did not control very much of their modern day borders, and Europe was divided into small tribes on the outskirts of large nations. For example, France does not have all of modern day France at this point. I will be issuing a specific announcement and discussion dealing with this at a later date, but do not be alarmed to see it.
